As a CEA newbie I'll say that's been the hardest thing. I knew it when we moved but it's hard to suddenly have so many people so suddenly negative toward you and your kids when 10 minutes ago (seemingly) you were fine.

I tend to avoid people in general and even at the gym (I try very hard to stay invisible) which is pretty lonely. I don't post here more than usual now and probably edit my responses 27 extra times (surprised I'm even saying this) But it's that or have people call you names, assume you're a rabid cheer mom and be negative to your kids for the color they wear. I know I wouldn't handle that well at all so I chose the hermit life.

And always being one to find the positive, my son is on a talented but invisible team and my daughter isn't skilled enough to make the team upon which hate reigns eternal (if she even comes back at all next year...or ever) so in in good shape to be able to stay successfully invisible.

ETA: I shouldn't say she's not talented enough, she is. I should say "if she hadn't allowed her destructive self criticism to rob her of her joy for the sport"

I am really sorry you feel that way but I understand it. I don't broadcast what little gym I am from because I am not very good at self censoring sometimes. I only want to speak for myself not my gym. I think if I was a part of CEA I would be very proud but silent too.

I'm a little behind... but my honest recap of the weekend.

GymTyme... You win. Hands down. All the uniforms were flawless. No complaints at all.

FAME JX: I love how athletic they are. I wish uniforms would all go back to simple and comfortable. Not a fan of the back cut outs but other than that, I think they looked fantastic and practical. It proves that sometimes you don't need to go over the top to look good.

Top Gun: I know the topic has been beat down repeatedly but my opinion is that sometimes something can be over the top. Whoever edited the picture and made it a nice crop top, I praise you because they actually looked awesome as just a crop top uniform. It just goes to show that something as small as a set of chains across the stomach can change the opinion of the uniform. I think people need to be aware of what they are doing before they actually decide to go through with it. You might think a design looks fun and exciting but think about what implications the uniform may cause. If you realize that people might take it the wrong way, make a change to it.

Ugh. You're reaching and being petty. If I wanted to be equally petty I could go find some pictures of transitions in cheer that look equally questionable.

I can't wait til CEA debuts their new uniforms at NCA so that we can move on to that

THEY'RE GETTING NEW UNIFORMS? ARE WE TALKING SENIOR AND COED ELITE OR THE YOUNGER TEAMS (SJX, JUNIOR ELITE)?

Junior Elite won't be there. SJX got new uniforms this summer. Youth Elite also already got new uniform's this summer and they'll wear those. SE and Coed will have new uniforms..........

AAAHHHHH so excited. But I feel like programs never wait as long as they used to before changing unis... anyway are they getting half top or full tops (now full would be interesting).

Usually our uniform cycle is around 3 year's. In April, SE will have worn that white uniform for 2 years. It goes quickly. LOL

Half or full top?? I guess we'll all have to wait until NCA to see!!

True! I always determine a uniform's age by how many Worlds it has been to.

Isn't your son on Coed Elite? I wouldn't say they are invisible! Why do you think they are? (I'm being curious, not rude!:))

Not 12Step but I think she means Coed doesn't get the level of snark and hate here like their sister team.....also meaning invisible on FB. When a video is posted they get a few critiques and a few I love that team's but none of the vitrol aimed at SE.

Not invisible at CEA though because honestly, they're really gelling and it show's when they take the mat! They've been the most consistent team in Kernersville this season!

I definitely wouldn't have described Coed Elite as invisible either, but I guess they don't get nearly as much attention/drama/publicity (whatever people want to call it) as SE does.
