All-Star Champions League Updates ( Movie Spoilers )

To be honest this whole champions league is starting to be a real drag... A lot of teams aren't hitting. I'm wondering if it's the pressure of it being shown in movie theaters, or what idk. But it's not gonna be any fun to watch a bunch of teams not hit on a big screen, nor worth the money.
This has been the most unorganized competition. Friends of mine on different CL teams were waiting 30-40 minutes between warm up time and competition. Many athletes were cold and not prepared by the time they got to the floor.

Nothing about this Comp makes sense to me. Initially, it was supposed to be Coed vs. All Girl- and yet- there are division scores. Teams that did not hit were in front of teams that did. The scoring system was so off (there were many teams with a higher raw score that should not have had than others). The disorganization was maddening. The results made no sense.

If this specific event wishes to have returners they better figure their ish out.

I don't know why a non cheer person (is that what we're calling them?lol) would pay money to see this movie. It's airing one night and isn't even playing in a lot of places so most people would have to spend extra money just to travel to the theater! I'm curious as to if the we're trying to make money off of the movie? Because they won't make much if that was the goal...

Not airing in a lot of places? It's showing in Salem, Oregon and that's about as backwoods as you can get when it comes to allstar cheer...

I thought a lot about what I was disliking so much about the Champions League competition and couldn't figure it out until just now.

A lot of the people involved with the Champions League complain about the lack of transparency in this industry. But this competition did provide nearly no information to anyone interested. I know that people involved with it read the boards, yet there are so many questions unanswered:
- Who selects the teams and what is the criteria?
- Why was there a practice round and how did scores from there carry over?
- How were the differences between small/medium/large and allgirl/coed made up?
- Who decided on the rules for this event (rounds, grandchamp,...)?
- What exactly made teams want to go there (some spoke about such an innovative concept, but for the competition itself I can't figure out the innovative concept at all)?
- Why did "they" choose the scoring system that was used? Why didn't they use the Varsity or Worlds scoresheet?
- Were things decided on by Nfinity? The Event Producer? The gym owners of participating teams?
- ...

I, personally, feel that there was so little information given out about this competition, that it almost seems irrelevant to those that didn't participate. I feel that the only information added on since the participating teams were revealed (in a very dragged out way) was the announcement of the movie and how to order tickets for that.
I really hope for everyone who is able to see the movie that at least that lives up to the hype that was established around the CL.

The practice round was to determine your raw score. meaning they looked at your difficulty. I was told you could not score higher than what you scored in the practice round.

Very strange. So what did the second score determine? just looking for deductions?

I thought the prom idea was fun for the kids. Sometimes at diving comps there will be a pizza party for all the teams so the kids get to hang out with friends they only see a couple times a year. The "red carpet" was a stretch only because it wasn't really a red carpet...more just kids hustling down it. But having the kids stop, pose, answer questions, and move on would have taken all night.
I was more shocked at some of the dresses the kids were wearing. A 16 year old shouldn't have a front cut down to her belly button. But that's just me.
Next year two representatives from each team should have to dress in outfits best depicting their gym and ride chariots around downtown Atlanta...

I assure you that there are much smaller towns with all-star gyms whose athletes would still need to drive a couple of hours to get to a theater where this is showing.

I don't think allowing the kids to participate in a brand, new venture where they have the opportunity to show the country what they invest so much time and passion in is a bad thing. I also don't think letting them do this basically once in a lifetime experience equates to them having no privacy or focus time at every other event in the future.

I see a lot of people complaining about the amount of invite-only events but there are a million more competitions that are exactly the same: no competition, poorly run, and poorly run. With the sport ever-evolving, it only makes sense that competitions can and will do just the same.

I think because this was being filmed for a movie, which is something that has never happened before, it changed the dynamic of the competition.

It honestly did not feel like a competition in any way - it felt like an athletes prom and then teams being filmed for the movie. I genuinely forgot that there would be actual winners.
Here we go again - were you there, or are you just getting your information on social media and passing it off as firsthand knowledge like you do with everything else you post?
