If I had to guess, just based on my own personal "study" over the past 20 years... I'd say at any given time about 10-20% of restaurant employees are under the influence of alcohol, and about 40-50% are under the influence of mj or other drugs. I mean during their shift - off shift it's probably closer to 100%

I don't think I've ever worked a shift that every single working member of the staff was sober. It's just most are really good at hiding it. Alcoholism is rampant in the restaurant industry. Sort of a chicken or the egg theory - is it because of the job (stress and availability/pushing of alcohol 24/7) or does the job attract that type of person?
That's actually why I LIKED my job- most of the girls/guys were actually pretty hard working people who had their ish together to where they weren't drinking on the shift. After, bon voyage. It's these new girls who 'need a lil sangria to get through.' I dunno, maybe my intimate knowledge with alcoholism due to other experiences (not me personally), I'm a little more sensitive to it?

In my junior high this was the complete opposite of what happened (everyone on drugs was caught, that one kid got arrested for selling cocain at age 12 and spent 3 years in juvy) but since I've gotten to high school, I've walked casually into the bathroom and there's just people smoking pot or cigarettes or something and it's usually our school athletes. I think all athletes, if you're in a club/school sport should be drug tested.

I'm extremely happy to hear in your middle school they were caught. I struggle with the fact that our HS's don't seem to catch anyone. We have drug dogs that come to the schools about 4-6 times each month and on-site police officers. It's just frustrating to hear kids, parents, and teachers talk about where the kids go during the day to smoke and where the deals go on, but no results. I agree, HS athletes should be tested, but we need adults willing to enforce the rules, even if it is the entire A-team line up that tests positive.

A police officer in my area supposedly created a fake Facebook profile and used a high school-aged girl's Instagram photos to make it. The officer, under the guise he/she had created, would send friend requests to people at my school (because people unfortunately accept friend requests too easily) and would try to ask where parties were going on, etc. Kids got suspicious and did some research, and discovered what the officer was trying to do and exposed the whole operation on Facebook.

The kids most definitely aren't stupid, nor are the dealers. Kudo's to the officer for at least trying, but I don't know of any kid that uses Facebook anymore, that was probably their first clue. Oldest cp was invited to bonfires and nearby lake parties by word of mouth, but they quickly figured out she wasn't going and stopped asking. I scroll though her Twitter from time to time and I don't ever see anyone talking about where the parties are going on, but they have no problem posting party pics on InstaGram.

Our neighbor has a son that has OD'd on heroin 4 times in the past year. I can't even fathom the amount of money this family has forked out for rehab and every single time he completes the requirements, he goes straight to his dealer. They finally had their son arrested, and unfortunately, jail is probably the safest place for him. A former honor student and class president of our HS, just OD'd on heroin and died. I just find it extremely frustrating and heartbreaking. Mother on mission to find man who sold deadly drugs to son | www.wsbtv.com

Class President... wow. You never truly know people.

I only use the term stalk because most things posted on Facebook ARENT on school property.

I had an incident with 'cyberbullying' (use that very loosely because I did nothing of the sort, and the girl accusing me had bullied me for years.) I never got into in trouble because I never made a threat to anyone and nothing I did happened at school. Unlike the other girls involved. Our school doesn't get involved with outside of school drug activity because it isn't any of their business, but if it's something like girls arguing on twitter the night before, they will call the people in to make sure it's not going to escalate. If you get in trouble during school time with drugs then it becomes a school issue. People don't understand that schools can only get involved when it's something that will effect the students at the school, like bullying. Kids getting wasted on the weekend is something that falls on the parents entirely. The only way the school will get involved is if it's at a 'team' party and someone gets hurt, or if pictures come up with people in uniform/or something representing the school.

Our school resource officer had a fake profile and told people he followed online. No one ever knew who he was. This guy was smart enough to not interact and only served as a way to view things like bullying, or something of that nature.

In our school district, they can and do randomly drug test all athletes (including cheerleaders) and anyone involved in any sort of extracurricular activity sponsored by the school.

Toxicology report confirmed overdose. I can't believe what a cocktail it was...it blows my mind that some people can do that and still manage to perform at a high level.

So many prayers and positive thoughts to her friends and family.

Wow, that's awful. Not trying to pry (not even sure if this is prying) but what specific substances did they find on her body?
