There have been many times i have not agreed with placements and scores but at the end of the day this sport is based off opinion. One judge might absolutely love you and another might absolutely love the other team in your division. I see no need to put things like this on social media for everyone to see.
I see you are a coach and I agree this sport is based on opinion or it's subjective as I like to say. My question to all involved is why go through the trouble of setting up grids on a score sheet and give values to percent of perfection if all judging is going to be based on opinion. Look at the team and score sheet and give them the score that they earn. I think the purpose behind Varsity's Accuscore system was to try and remove the opinion factor as much as possible.

If people spent as much time complaining about the rules on social media rather than fixing them, we would probably have a somewhat objective scoresheet.

I get the frustration. But for owners and coaches to put on social media they won't be returning is unnecessary and doesn't make them look good. Handle it in a professional manner. If you don't like a comp then just don't go back or contact the ep and let them know of your concerns. But to put it on social media makes you look like a sore loser.
And this is not directed to anyone in particular. Just making a general statement.

Right.

Like my mom and probably every other mom likes to say----"I can show you better than I can tell you "

So who is who in the pic? I don't know if you can completely fix it but I think there is some work that can be done to improve or shore up what is already there. I do think it has gotten better over the years.

I posted that information on the boards. I am absolutely not on Senior Elite (I wish!!), am in no way affiliated with them and am not impersonating a team member. I am simply a fan. However, when I posted that information I did post images of two tweets that gave the explain of the music being too long as a reason for the deductions. These tweets did come from an athlete who is on Senior Elite so I imagine the information can still be classified as genuine.

Whooops..... I'm sorry, I didn't go back and check who posted the screenshot of that tweet.

Truthfully hitting your stunts and tumbling is only part of it. I looked at the results and in every single division we were in we had the HIGHEST scoring dance or only .05 behind the highest dance score.

There are teams in divisions we were against with great teams beating us in stunt scores but their dance scored .4 behind ours. Like these dances are costing some people wins.

I believe we also won 3 choreo awards as well that I didn't mention but I don't even remember who got them but like a couple others said - it really is having the total package and that is including the dance.

Not Important but that girl doesn't cheer for rockstar.. Pretty sure she cheers for a Cali team..
Yeah I think she is on the Cali team that placed just in front of rockstar and lost to us. There is all kinds of tweets in that division between teams but rockstar has the most... I have them all screenshot so that's probably where the confusion came from in the posted pics because I just picked random tweets that were funny instead of loading down the boards with a bunch of pics. I do have them from rockstar though .. Ehh whatever well they all will get a rematch at the summit I think so I can't wait to see Twitter then.

Agreed! So many teams have great amazing skills, but no choreography!

What would be the benefit in going back to Dallas? Senior elite has hit four perfect routines in a row there and still lost to a team with mistakes 3 of their 4 routines. Why should they keep going back, the message from NCA is pretty clear.

I know I may get some flaming for this, but I'm really getting the impression that CEA and their fans feel that any time they hit they are *entitled* to a win? Almost like they feel the only way a competitor should be able to beat them is if they have a major mistake(s) and the other team is perfect. I just don't get this vibe as much from the other big programs.

Not picking on NCA or even Cheersport, but I would love to see a boycott of any specific competition "Stick It" style just to show Varsity that the gyms and athletes still call the shots. They are just getting too big.
Last time I can remember this happening was WSF and all the NJ gyms boycotting

Were you in E-Hall?

a gym my friend was with in 2012 had this happen to them. They were announced 2nd place. When they got the scoresheets, there was an error. The coaches took it to the judges and then JC and they said you are correct that is wrong, we are sorry and will waive the entry fee for your teams next year, but did not give their team jackets or trophy or anything else. That was the end of it. Yep, sorry, we made a mistake, your team really won but we aren't going to do anything about it except not make you pay to come next year.
This happened to us one time. We were informed following the competition that we were mistakenly put in first rather than second. There was actually a tie and the other team had a higher perfection score. We found out via Twitter when the coach of the second place team began boasting to athletes on our team that he was the real winner. He went further and was really mean about the whole thing. The EP asked our team to return their medals. That's how things should NOT be handled when this sort of thing occurs. There should be a level of maturity shown by all involved. But especially by those in a position of authority. The EP should have handled a discreet notification and the other coach should have remained silent until the notification had taken place. In the end, tempers flared, feelings were hurt and respect was lost. So, even if the other team won they really lost in the end.
