Just saw cheer updates tweeted CEA Chicago has 3 level 5 teams. Youth5, Jr5, and med sr 5.

I'm excited to see Passion in the medium sr 5 division I've loved them at summit in the past!
ETA: Sorry pic is huge

I assume they're all small except for senior 5 but I'm not sure.

I'm pretty certain Jr 3 is also large. CP is on that team and we believe they're maxed out at 32.

Just out of curiosity because I've seen multiple postings now that don't have a Jr or Sr 1 in the program. Does this mean that any athlete without a bhs is placed on level 2 or are they turned away?

Thank you for pointing this out...I was wondering the same thing.

At our old gym last year we only we had several girls who couldn't do a bhs, they were put on either the J2 or S3 team depending on their age.

We have a j1 at my gym, and I've been disappointed to see that a lot of programs don't have one this year. But in the past, they've either been placed on our j1 or 4.2.

We generally have one or two senior aged girls with no tumbling. Senior 3 is our lowest level senior team and honestly the team is over. They even went large this year and 34 were placed on the team with all level skills, being over a couple always works itself out so that's not a big deal

We don't mind having a senior 1 but we need the athletes to support it. We don't use crossovers between levels because we go to NCA so unfortunately we don't have a team for some.

Last year we put them on prep senior 3 without the skills, and they ended up winning NCA prep so they did have a good season. This year unfortunately most of the kids switched to allstar or aged out so we don't have a senior prep team either:(

It stinks for those few kids but they usually try out again the next season. There are other kids who don't get placed for whatever reason as well (even kids on our AllStar teams last season), not just senior 1 kids! We can't make youth 1 go senior as we have a lot of babies on all our youth teams since we never have mini/tiny teams.

My first year of cheer (in the dark ages of 2009) I was placed on a senior 2 because the gym only had j2, s2, and s3 because it was so small. Even bigger gyms I've noticed typically don't have s1 teams and new cheerleaders go straight to s2. Never have I heard of all star kids being turned away, that's turning away $$$
