What's the basis for this rule?
Michigan basically had the same rule you cannot be on 2 competitive sports at the same time per MHSAA. So, you cannot be on your HS competitive squad and an All Star team. They can do side line in HS as that is considered a "club". Some of our High School coaches won't even allow the All Stars do that

I gotcha. What if it's two different sports? Is that allowed?
Some state associations see it as a way to limit over training by kids. There are many studies that say no sport should be played year round and especially in developing kids. What's the basis for this rule?
The thing is that I don't think they loose many to HS cheer. Some try it but come back to all stars after a year. My CP is thinking about doing HS next year but I'm not to sure about it, how do you go from a team like Cali Coed to HS (and here in Arizona teams are like a level 3 team).
That, and then if a practice falls on a day that the kids have practice for all-star, it then forces the kid to choose, which if they choose x over y, y could kid them off of the team because they appear to be more committed to x than y.Some state associations see it as a way to limit over training by kids.
