How do you deal with mental blocks? Especially around tryout time.

I have no connection to CA (cries) but I'm thinking they can write whatever they like, but if they don't have the right set of skills to be on that team, they'll be placed where they (and their team) will be successful. Can the athlete write a letter explaining why they want a specific team?

True, but I think it goes both ways. If you've got higher skills they may need you on a higher team.i have no connections either (crying right there with you) but what if a child wants to be on a lower level team than they may actually be skill-wise? or they're borderline youth/junior age and want a specific age bracket team? that's how i took her post. or maybe i'm wrong? it happens

More than half the people on my school team go to CA. For tryouts one of them said you write down your top three teams on a paper , then after you tryout and they pick which team will fit you best. You don't always get on the teams you wrote down.I know its only February but my work already has our schedule template out for April/May (crazy I know)...so I present the following questions:
1. Are there tentative dates for tryouts?
2. Will you be attending CheerSport next season?
3. Are you forcasting a tuition change from what is in the 2012-2013 tryout info?
4. Will youth teams be getting new uniforms?
5. If an athlete wants a particular team, is that taken into consideration with placements? Can the athlete write a letter explaining why they want a specific team?

Luckily cp doesn't fit into any of the above. It is simply her last year of youth eligibility and she has never been on a youth team. She has even wrote a little essay listing all the benefits she can bring...
Speaking of siblings, this will be the 1st season I have two kids in the gym again! Oldest is trying out for Dance Athletics! I'll have to change my username to CADAmom...or something like that...
Will there be any "official" picture taking for some of the athletes at NCA? There were so many kids following Jamie Andries and Matt Smith at Cheer America that I felt really bad for them. Mine asked to get a picture after awards, but understandably, they just wanted to go home. I know NCA will be infinitely more chaotic and I will not allow her to chase them around the convention center.
