In an unrelated topic, I will say that moving cross-country (over several trips) is not the most fun thing to do right now. Currently in Virginia and mildly worried about getting back to Texas this weekend.

I can say that in NJ counties have been communicating that all summer camps/programs/fairs have been cancelled (not postponed). Governor Cumo has cancelled all summer camps and programs in the state. I question if parents will take their athletes to the gym for practice if their schools are not even open yet. Some schools have made the decision to be virtual for the remainder of the school year, which in NJ is till the end of June. If my child is not permitted back in school, not sure I would be taking them to the gym for practice, let alone getting on a plane and traveling to FL for a gathering of tens of thousands of people?? While this is a difficult situation for so many, the focus has to remain on the safety for ALL, not just those in your immediate household. I keep going back to Governor Cumo's comments around saying home and how not adhering to the mandate may not directly impact you or your immediate family, but you may infect someone else. He asked everyone that "if they can't show discipline for themselves, to please show discipline for other people. If you get infected and infect others that have to go to an emergency room, you put a burden on an already overtaxed health care system who you don't have the right to burden with your irresponsibility. We all have a responsibility, we all have a role in this, and the role that we play is a societal obligation. It's not about your life, you don't have the right to risk someone else's life and you don't have the right to take a healthcare staff, who are putting their life on the line and be cavalier or reckless with them, you just don't have the right". I watch his daily Corona Virus updates and while his statements may seem extreme to some, they are factual. NY is the hardest hit state in the US with NJ right behind them. If strict proper safeguards are not put in place in other areas, you too will be the next NJ or NY. Strong action must be taken to prevent the spread to other areas because if tough decisions, disappointing decisions are not taken, other states will become the next NY and NJ!!Oh no. Not saying it’s wrong but it sucks. What state? My kids’ camp is still hoping to run. They’re in NC. See a trend here...? Lol.
I’m supposed to move to a new city this summer and it is stressing me out so muchIn an unrelated topic, I will say that moving cross-country (over several trips) is not the most fun thing to do right now. Currently in Virginia and mildly worried about getting back to Texas this weekend.
I know its 100% first world problems, but I had a very detailed plan including 2 very, very large/expensive trips planned for this summer before finding a job/permanent place to live in the fall and I feel like it's all gonna fall apart. Definitely stressing out about it all, just really want my trips to go through as re-planning them would suck. But as I said, much larger problems in the world right now.I’m supposed to move to a new city this summer and it is stressing me out so much

At the risk of sounding punctilious, I just want to share in the midst of all the COVID talk that there are no “cures” for viruses. (See: HIV, influenza, etc.) Vaccines, yes. Cures, no. We can only treat viruses with supportive or palliative care to take some of the stress off the body while the immune system attacks the virus on its own.
Just FYI. I’m seeing a lot of news about “There’s a cure just around the corner!” and it bugs me because that’s impossible. I know these posts are probably referring to the word “vaccine,” but the two terms are not interchangeable.
There are some possible treatments, plasma or drugs. I know it’s not a cure but they might work to help save more people.
Arkansas is not allowing hotel stays now, FYI. And I’d suggest not staying in hotels on the Memphis side downtown because many of the health workers in the hospitals are staying there to quarantine apart from their families and near the hospitals. I suspect the same is true in other big cities. In an unrelated topic, I will say that moving cross-country (over several trips) is not the most fun thing to do right now. We saw that and have decided to not stop. There are 4 of us driving, so between the 4 of us we should be ok rotating through. We've done it before, not ideal, but probably our best bet right now.Arkansas is not allowing hotel stays now, FYI. oh same. I’ll still be with the same company and they said that they can be flexible since we’re working from home. But I was supposed to be there now looking at apartments and I feel SO anxious moving to a new city with no family during a pandemic. Like you said though, it’s definitely first world problems, but it is very anxiety inducingI know its 100% first world problems, but I had a very detailed plan including 2 very, very large/expensive trips planned for this summer before finding a job/permanent place to live in the fall and I feel like it's all gonna fall apart.
