At the beginning of the summer I started working on my standing tuck. They weren't very good, I rarely landed on my feet however I was throwing them onto an elevated surface (for saftey reasons I guess) but I tore my MCL doing a back handspring so I was out of cheer for about a month. I'm back, but my coach doesn't trust me to throw tucks, even with two spots onto a crash mat. I'm confident with throwing it- but she won't allow it. Unfortunately there aren't any gyms near me offering tumbling privates for nonmembers at least (I cheer high school) so I need to get her to just let me throw. Is there anything I can do to show her that I'm okay to throw the tuck? I don't really grasp the concept of tuck jump drills because I'm not going backwards, so it just doesn't work out haha. But I really need help with her just allowing me to do it. Also, if you have any tips for getting a tuck in a short period of time- that's be great! I have college and Michigan Spirit tryouts in the spring.
