How many travel competitions does your organization attend during the season and are they usually within driving distance or must you fly? Do the parents have any say so in the amount of travel competitions per season?

Our non-worlds teams do 3 drivable overnight competitions per season. Thank goodness or there's no way I could afford for my child to cheer!

We only do 1 per season that are far enough to fly to. Thankfully we are in Indy so have many great opportunities right in our back yard. We have 3 levels of teams---local, regional, and national. The local teams, generally younger and level 1, do not travel. Regional teams, levels 1 and 2, travel once, generally within 2 hours of home. National teams, levels 2 and up, traveled for about half the comps this season. Only one (Orlando) required flying and overnight stay. Most of us did an overnight for convenience though.
Parents don't have much say in the schedule since its presented before tryouts unless a change happens during the schedule. Thankfully that RARELY happens.

We live in an area where all of our comps are travel. This year we didn't fly to any of them, but there were 2 eight hour drives and 3 three hour drives.

We only did one travel competition this year and it was a 3 hour drive each way (Chicago to Indy). I coach at a small gym in the Chicago suburbs so we're lucky to have lots of good competitions that are within 30-90 minutes of our gym. It helps keep the costs down!

We do one 4 hour drive with overnight stay and then one flight for our big nationals. We just had to add in a cross-country flight for Summit for three of our teams but we are fundraising like crazy to try to cover those costs.

Next year we will be adding in a second 4 hour drive comp as we will be going for paid Summit bids.

Levels one and two don't usually travel, senior two normally goes to one travel competition. Levels 3-5 do 3 travel comps. Dallas (non-drivable) Atlanta and Nashville (long drives or fly) worlds teams also go to worlds.

Our non-travel teams attend 3 local 2 day nationals (San Diego, Palm Springs, Anaheim) & our travel teams attend those 3 local 2 day nationals along with American Grand in Vegas & NCA Nationals!

Our program as a whole attends 7-8 competitions!

We are a non travel program-we go to four competitions all between 1-3 hours away and no overnights (some choose to stay overnight for convenience sake if the drive is 2+ hours away).

We have two competitions that we could conceivably fly to, but we actually take very long bus rides to them. We also have four other competitions that require an overnight stay and/or have at least a 2+ hour drive - but that's part of the price of living in the middle of nowhere. :)

we have three over night 2-day comps - two within 2 - 3 hrs and the other 6 hours (some are flying/most are driving). The other 6 are local.

We have 4 travel comps. The first is to Cheersport which most of us drive to. (12 hour drive) so we can save some money for NCA. Which of course we fly to. And were attending One Up in Tennesse. (14 hour drive i believe) and some are flying some are not. Then of course theres worlds for our level 5's
