WHY WHY WHY with the choker??!? It doesn't even look remotely comfortable, and the rest of the uniform is so gorgeous!

I've been told that it's the USASF safety judge at each event that will apply the deduction, but the amount of the deduction can vary depending on the scoring system being used, though most will be on the Varsity/Jam scoresheet. But you make a good point, that they are the only team in their division, so they could have gotten the deduction but still received first.

This is true. Safety judge gives deductions, and the amount of the deduction is up to the EP.

Jersey All Stars always has the most amazing uniforms. I didn't think that they could do better than last season. They were my favorite at every comp we went to; but now I am thinking that they might have!

I think you can have chokers that are tasteful and add to the look of the uniform.

These chokers do not fall under that category.

Oh come on, this one isn't even attached to the uniform! We ban athletes from wearing jewelry when competing (for good reason), yet this sort of thing is allowed? It's basically just an elasticated necklace.
