I'm imagining the problems that might come from rolling up something with springs. What about a design based off of a rod floor or a ski floor?

Maybe something like these air mats? Roll out and air up...
Air Floor - tumbling inflated rebound mat - Tumbl Trak - Gymnastics, Cheerleading and Dance Equipment
Unfortunately, I think with anything that rolls up and is springy, durability could be an issue.
that has potential. so a rollout airfloor. how long to blow up? is it like a balloon and holds air or is it like a bounce house and needs constant air?
how fast could it be blown up? would it simulate springs?
CP has used a mat like the ones I linked to. They hold air and are very lightweight. She says the rebound is similar to a spring floor. Not sure how long it would take to air each panel up, but I'm guessing quicker than setting a spring floor. Definitely easier to transport!
Air floors personally freak me out. I'm kind of weird with surfaces that I tumble on. I can do everything the same on the spring floor and hard floor but I hate the air floor and tumble trak, and I can only throw certain skills on the wood (standing tuck being the hardest) So if I had to compete on a air floor it would really freak me out and I would probably only throw certain skills. I doubt I'm the only that's weird about surfaces, so I'm just throwing that out there as something to think about.
Opps, definitely interpreted that wrong.I think there would be a typical cheer floor on top of the air floor if I'm reading it all correctly.
