not a switch kick, but still crazy
hahaha Chris ewwww.
i have done the baskets both of them: preference my switch kick is more fun but the one that looks better because of my unflexible self is hitch kick
I've found that teaching/learning a hitch kick full/double is easier than a straight kick. The hitch gives you a little more power for that kick ,especially since the full kick is on your bad leg.
OK, I'm gonna sound really dumb but in the UK we have very few teams that are level 5 and above. In fact, we have very few teams period compared to the USA and we are still learning some basics of top level cheer.
So, can someone explain the difference between kick, hitch-kick, and switch-kick? I'm so confused and I have tried to look up a clear and concice explanation and can't find one. I just can't see clear enough in vids to understand.
Maddie Loy CheerForce Diamondz worlds 2010&2011 openning basket switch kick.. BOTH super good!
Thanks for that heads up, we'll also make sure to put it in the Cheeropedia so others know.
A kick double is where the flyer kicks her leg high so at the top of the basket her leg is fully extended by her shoulders, before coming down, usually in a double or full. Like here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6h2S4Ffst6Y
A hitch kick double is where a flyer hitches before she kicks (if you've ever seen a hitch kick on the floor, it's that. If not or you use a different term, it's where the knee of the opposite leg [usually the left] is brought up quickly to parallel or the chest before switching and kicking the right leg up. Again, coming down is almost always a double full. Like here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMS2bwNQ7EI&feature=related
A switch kick takes that one step further to kick the left leg up extended before quickly switching to a nice high kick of the right leg before doubling down. Like here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6i_tBAm92U
If you want to see a lot of these in slow motion so you can really get a feel for what they're doing, look at the 2by2 videos. Lots of them feature the fliers in baskets..Like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OuCufBEG59Y&feature=feedu
At 3:14 she does a kick double, and then it's in slow mo.
At 1:11, she does a switch kick double.
Cheerforce Diamondz Center toss at 1:05= Absolute Perfection!!!
Is it weird that she doesn't ride with both hands up. Whenever I have taught them, I teach girls to use both hands. I've never seen anyone leave their hand on their hip
Anyone else notice the 'fierce' bows on her bag at the end?
No, but now I'm going to have to rewatch the video..
I just posted the first ones I could find that had them in slow motion..I take no responsibility for difference in teachings lol I wanted a visual aid..
When you explain it like that it's so obvious, like I knew all along but I couldn't quite 'see' it. A great, clear explanation, thank you so much!
why is everyone forgetting cali sm sr
