That popped out to me as well. At the time she was the only person though, correct? That was 4 years ago now, which is a really long time in the cheer world.

She was the first person to perform it on the mat.
The article states that she was the only one that could "do it". Hundreds of stunt groups across the country could do the stunt in 2010 I'm sure, Maddie's stunt group just brought it to light.

The article made it seem that in 2010 Maddie's was the only person in the whole country that could perform the stunt, which isn't true - If that makes sense :D

No, it makes sense. Like I said, that popped out to me as well. I just figured I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. That fact doesn't really matter much to non-cheerleaders reading the article.

The 360 ball up that Emily mentioned and in the picture of Jamie Andries modelling for Rebel Athletic she is the model on the right not on the left as they wrote.

Its all just little things that I could be reading too much into, but there have been mistakes in every article on this wire regarding Cheerlebrities so far:/

Edit - Oh, and Gabi's not blonde :p
I thought that about Gabi too! They should hire you to edit the articles! LOL

A few of things on that article and really any article like this on any topic. My wife was interviewed by phone and we were shocked that there would even be any interest. If you have ever done one of these or anything with the press you may know how difficult it is to give answers to a line of questions that may have no specific sequence or vision before the article is written and then have an article come out summarizing your thoughts in the way you would want it written. Suffice it to say, the author did a pretty good job, but Sarah never suggested Maddie was the only one who could do that stunt. As you know, you are not allowed to proofread and make suggestions or changes to the article. Anyone just had to look at the extreme stunting videos from 10 or 15 years ago and you know that is not true. But apparently the people who reviewed the piece, non cheer people, were most impressed with the stunt sequences. Probably not a surprise. I suspect she was just trying to build up that part of the article. Second, it came across as if she was criticizing parents of present day cheerleaders and she was not and would not do that in any way. We all live and do things for our kids as we see fit, and we are not in anyone else's shoes. The last comment was not used in the appropriate way. I think she said compared to when Maddie came through, the whole thing may have gotten way past where it was when she was popular, and things had gotten a bit crazy. Lastly, the article implies that Maddie had entered in monetary arrangements with varies entities as an all star cheerleader. Never happened. She did not receive any payment from anyone for anything except the shopping trip from Tate until after she walked off the stage at Worlds for the last time. We insisted on that, she was an amateur. She only received payment for expenses and appearance fees after her career had finished. She is a sophomore at UNC, cheering varsity, doing great in school and appears to be having a great time with her college experience. We wish everyone well, especially those who find the spot light shinning brightly on them. But she and we remain convinced that the road to success is paved through hard work, the proper education and dedication to studies, along with developing good people skills. Lessons all cheerleaders can learn in cheer, famous or not.

There's so much I'd like to say but while I gather my thoughts....

Is this the same writer for all these articles? Is she really that bored? I mean, I can't imagine we're that interesting..

Although I'm not surprised she picked up that one. And I'm going to reserve judgment on some of his answers because I already said my piece on them..

LOL this sport looks more legitimate to the outside world every day... and obviously the staff at the wire are reading the boards, so hi! if i were TG/Victor I'd be pissed to even be mentioned/have my uniform shown in that article.

I. Was. Thinking. The. Same. Thing.

For the record, even I, as one of the most anti-teal people alive, didn't think that. I felt more like the writer was trying to make it that, but not that Sarah ever said or felt that. She was obviously trying to use those quotes to paint a picture that just wasn't happening.

OK, now I have to go read this newest one...

That wire article made it seem like it's no big deal that thousands of children have been unwittingly exposed to pornography… Riley claims there's not a lot he could do to stop kids from looking… are you kidding me?!! I have no issues with him doing porn if that's what he wants to do; I DO have problems with him being an imbecile and his idiocy affecting others.

I am surprised it took them this long to make that article.

I was thinking the exact same thing!

He wants to do porn, good for him. I'm not allowed to judge(biblically). I hate that he used his former life in a child's sport to launch that career. I wish he would have canceled all traces of his old "life" on social media, then resurfaced as this new person separate from the old persona.
