Why is everything related to prom so expensive? I'm so glad tickets are only $10 at my school bc I know in other places they can be $50+

My prom ticket was 65... Do you get a dinner with yours? And is it held at a venue or just at your school? I had no idea that 10$ prom tickets were a thing! Why is everything related to prom so expensive? I'm so glad tickets are only $10 at my school bc I know in other places they can be $50+

No dinner with ours, we just go out in our little groups. It's at a venue too. the reason it's so cheap is bc our sophomore year we have a penny war between our "studies" classes (social studies/English together) and all the money raised goes toward our senior activities to keep the cost down. The penny war is so intense, people get so in to it that we raise a ridiculous amount of money. And my class won [emoji136]My prom ticket was 65... Do you get a dinner with yours? Ours comes with a dinner so that's one reason it's so much more expensive! And unfortunately our prom is student run and the school has no affiliation with our prom so we can't do school fund raising for itNo dinner with ours, we just go out in our little groups. Between dress, alterations, flowers, shoes, hair, nails jewelry it adds up fast! Thank goodness for our super competitive class that was able to raise so much in the penny war!
My daughters SR prom is $100 a couple at a venue in town.My prom ticket was 65... Do you get a dinner with yours? And is it held at a venue or just at your school? I had no idea that 10$ prom tickets were a thing!

Nothing fancy, a nice dinner and DJ, few raffles I think.I guess that's a lot but what does it include?
Ours was $45 and we got a sizable venue (we had around 800 kids in my class), DJ, buffet style dinner and desert, and the after party that had a ton of fun food, caricatures, tarot card reading, something else that I'm forgetting that was fun, like 4 different inflatables, prize raffles that included a car, and then whatever that gift is that you basically throw away after.
That isn't too shabby, tbh.
Could you include some examples, potentially critique two novels, one which provides a good representation of the era it's set in and one that doesn't? You could contrast a description of a time as set out in a novel to that portrayed by other sources. That could generate some discussion as to why the two differ. What 'the point' of the novels are (to entertain and therefore prone to exaggeration or to tie in with the plot versus being purely informative?) and whether reliability relates to how long after the period discussed the books were written/the background of the author etc. Just a few ideas, hope some of that's helpful! Sounds like a fascinating topic.I'm writing a paper based on if historians should take a novel seriously or not and I'm already out of ideas to talk about and I still need 3,000 more words. I've talked about the author, how a book is classified between fiction and nonfiction (I still need to tie in why historians should or shouldn't take it seriously based on the classification), and how some of the characters in the book are based off of real people along with the main plot being based off of true events. I just feel like theres no way to get this paper to 5000 words.
