I would be shocked. I can't believe they have the numbers for that. They went from having two Worlds teams two years ago to one Medium Coed last year to Small Coed this season. I don't think their youngest Worlds athletes are of International age either, but I could be wrong on that.
They don't. This is the SMCOED with some over senior age kids. I'm guessing they didn't have enough kids to fill the vacant spots.

Otherwise, wouldn't both teams be competing?

I heard they just switched divisions because of an injury. It's apparently just for the weekend and they're not going for another bid.

a comp is kind of sad when you have the same amount of teams as you do bids! Weak. i am sure some undeserving will get bids this weekend!

The only reason it's that way is because Spirt Fest changed there competition to the same date! I bet some of those teams will be regretting their decision come Sundsy night !

I was thinking the same thing but I'm sure the athletes and coaches would disagree and say hey a bid won is a bid won regardless of the number of teams competing for it.

This is not entirely unheard of this time of season. I have seen comps with more bids than teams needing them.

"Undeserving" meaning they shouldn't go to Worlds? I don't think the quality of this comp is a big secret. Gyms still choose to attend, and as @Boughetto said, for many a bid is still a bid regardless of where it is earned. An "undeserving" team will just be one and done at Worlds, whether it is with an AL on Day 1 or a FP on Day 2. Unless a gym is delusional, they pretty much know what the outcome will be. Having a Worlds team and having a successful Worlds team are two completely different things.

I highly doubt it. I think there are many more gyms this season who decided to steer clear of Cheer Tech. I'm not sure why you are so over-the-top supportive of this comp given its consistent poor track record and questionable FP bid winners. I'm thinking you are either a parent whose cp's gym consistently earns their bids there or you have a personal relationship with the EP. Which is fine, but to act as though other's less than stellar opinions of this comp are outlandish makes me question your ulterior motives in your support.

You
I still plan to record all the level 5 teams regardless.

I have no ulterior motive . You are have to be kidding me if you think these competitions are the only ones to consecutively award BIDS to the same teams year after year . I believe that there are a few teams that consecutively miss that Paid BID because they do a really clean level 4 routine and think bc it hits they deserve that PAID BId and when they don't get it they spread nasty rumors

Totally agree. Well known programs don't attend this EP's competitions for a reason. When programs with multiple Worlds teams reside within 3 hours of the competition location and they travel further to attend something else - even competitions without bids, they are giving a pretty clear message.
