Someone please tell me that there is a good reason that small senior and small Coed prelims are separated into two groups. I don't understand why it cant be just one big division and the top 20 teams make it to semis. Does this not make more sense? Like someone else already said, division A for small senior is way more stacked than the B division. Any speculation will disappear if it was just one big division.
Since worlds is comparative scoring, it tends to be easier for the judges to have less teams to watch at a time for scoring.

I wish I could find it, but there's an implicit bias based on performance order. Someone (@King or @BlueCat?) has shown that teams that go later tend to score higher. Rather than one very large group (like it used to be) where that behavior is exacerbated, they break it into smaller groups to try and avoid some of that.

It was me!

After 10 teams the large groups that you have the larger the advantage of going later. By breaking them up you decrease the advantage.

The preliminary divisions for both small senior and small coed seem smaller this year than they have in the past. Normally there are close to 50 teams in each division, so it is very difficult to judge the team that goes first comparatively to the team who goes last. I believe it was 2 or 3 years ago that USASF divided each preliminary division and chose to send 10 from each to semi finals. It made sense when there were 3 at large bids given for each paid, but I'm not sure it makes as much sense now.

Bummed about the stream moving to Flo. Just bought a Roku yesterday and still hate Flo after the way they handled the McKayla Maroney pics a couple years ago. I really don't want to support that kind of business.

Ugh. I was hoping there'd be a FloSports channel on Roku :( guess my computer will have to do.

Unless anyone knows how I can stream it to my tv? I have a mac and a toshiba tv.

You can get an hdmi cable from your mac to the tv. I think you might need an apapter to go mac -> hdmi though.

Then it's basically the equivalent of your tv being an external monitor.

This might be a very stupid question, but anyways-

Is the live stream able to be played back? I'll be gone all Saturday for work but I'd consider purchasing the stream if when I got home Saturday night, I could watch the teams I missed. Anyone know if it works like that?

No, I don't believe so, unless something is different this year.
