When you go to the bathroom check your PMs

It should have its own thread.

I disagree; in fact I think it should be talked about more and everywhere---this isn't about who won and who lost---it's about the athletes and their safety. And USASF has continually gotten worse over this very issue---sure it ran late the past 2 years, but this year it was the absolutely latest and the mat was wet. Dare I ask what USASF plans to add to the obstacle of 2017? This is a much bigger issue and frankly I'm happy to see people still up in arms over it---the entire LAG division got screwed and while USASF is the joke, those athletes had to pay for it.

I cant figure out if I'm shaking because I drank coffee on a semi empty stomach or if I'm nervous for Small Senior ? oy vey

any one wanna send me a periscope link/username? I got out of class earlier than expected and the UK time difference is working in my favor now!

...It's against the USASF's OWN code of conduct for teams to be competing after 11pm. Again, at this stage of my life I have no dog in my fight but you're a COACH. These are your ATHLETES: their health and safety is in your hands, and the hands of the person running the competition. If the governing body of the sport your in won't even follow it's OWN safety rules, how do you respect it as a governing body? How do you accept that? You can't. It SHOULD still be contested, it SHOULD still be talked about. This isn't the first time it's been a problem and yet they continue to insist they're 'working' on it. You don't 'work' on an event over 10 years in process.

Does nobody remember the vault catastrophe in the WAG finals at the Olympics? Has that ever happened again? No.

ETA: I wasn't here last night (clearly as I stated) so I haven't had the chance to get my frustration out. I want to say Hooray for F5 because I can't- not even because of who won, but HOW they had to win. Any type of slippery surface (especially with the type of lightweight cheer shoe they wear now) is dangerous for everyone, winners and losers alike.

As a coach I would have had a problem with the late time and if mats were wet. I would have raised my complaints prior to competing. Safety is important but the kids have already competed when the issues were brought to usaf. And again I don't think there were any tumbling busts or injuries last night during large all girl as a result of the mats(thank god!)

So I'll speak my part of this situation...
IMO, (coming from an athlete who JUST lost senior age) time has NOTHING to do with these team's performance, they're 12-18, they've been in the park all day practicing and having fun. if they needed as much rest as you guys made it seem, they had the option to get it. Plus, they're up all night after regular practices anyway so.....
Slip n slide time..
funny how everyone complained about the mat AFTER they competed but I'll sip tea lol.
If the Mat was THAT big of a deal, they could've and WOULD'VE refused to compete on it.
No one had tumbling busts, the girl from Panthers should be the only one complaining. (And Cali coed guy)
Back to the time...
Y'all are complaining about Competing late, if they would've redid the mat, moved to another venue, anything, it would've took longer than it did. Them competing today would've been late also because they would've had to compete after everyone. These large worlds teams should be used to it since half of them have been on these teams for more than one season.

Yes.

From a coaching perspective, I attended a comp where the team two teams before us said that there was a strip of mat out of place creating a little dip in that spot.

Did I send my kids out?

Nope. I made sure the team in front of us got event staff and that no one else went out (including my kids) until they fixed it.
