Okay guys, may "intimidate" was the wrong term to use for you 'coaches'. What we do isn't literally intimidating. I guess what we should say so you guys understand is that we joke around with them. As I said, none of us would ever really do anything. And we aren't being serious when we say we "intimidate" them. Those who are currently cheerleaders know what I'm talking about and don't think I would really punch a flier in the ankle, but for you 'coaches' we are JOKING.

***To your side note. The word FLYER is a device used to add twist to yarn. The world FLIER would be the correct word to use when talking about someone in a stunt.

I'm pretty sure most of us "coaches" have been in your shoes before. Stunting and flyers that don't have their stuff together in the air weren't invented with the generation of current cheerleaders, so yes we do know what you are talking about, and it is a pain. And the "coaches" on the board would be irresponsible if they didn't at least point out that using intimidation should not be common practice to get your flyers to perform. Maybe intimidation was poor word choice if you and your flyer know that you would never actually do anything BUT catch them and make sure they are safe.
There very well may be some Susie on the board that read your post and thinks they can go in and use intimidation on their brand new flyer that they have known for 3 days. It wouldn't be the first time someone actually dropped their flyer for not performing.

I hate when bases blame things on the flyer (same with coaches)
I hate when bases would rather protect themselves than the girl whos getting thrown into the air. really? suck it up, the flyers gonna get hurt more if you dont catch her because you dont want to hurt yourself.

2.AMEN to that! I hate when fliers freak out at all! Especially when airborne! I usually intimidate my fliers and it fixes everything lol. I once had a flier that used to stand on my wrist when her skill wasn't hitting (i.e. heel stretch, scorp, etc) to gain her balance and try the skill again. So I told her if she stood on my wrist one more time I'd punch her in the ankle mid-stunt. She never did it again. lol ^_^

I didn't really mean it but at least it worked.

OMG I do that too! when my flyer wont flip in our pyramid and blames everyone eles I look at her and say if you dont flip I promise I will drop you...I dont care if its on the competiton floor....she very impressionable because it always hits after that[/quote]

1. how sweet.
2.sometimes its not the flyers fault and she knows it.

Time for a list!
1. I hate when people have bad attitudes at practice-really cause your not helping anyone
2. I hate when people that dont work their hardest at practice come off the mat crying cause they messe up-really should have worked harder at the gym
3. I hate negative people-the ones who look at a comp sched and say "oh we're gonna lose loook who were up against"
4. I hate excessive cheer mom's who coach from parent area-anyone ever notice the parents that go with the flow kids are awesome and the ones who coach from the side suck...knock it off
5. I hate people who think they are so much better then you all the time
6. I hate that all male cheerleader are gay...really so is your mom
7. I hate when flyers freak out in baskets and come plummiting down to mat feet first...sorry your about to hit the mat I like my nose not broken
8. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I feel better : )

sorry but your not the one whos up in the air and would get hurt more if you got dropped... you may wanna re-think that before a flyer gets really hurt...

omg, i needed this so bad.
lol so im not the greatest base in the world, it's my first year basing when ive been a backspot for like 10 years and no one taught me how to do it. i just jumped right in the main base spot and did what i was told.
so our stunt moves a little because i don't have the stunt DIRECTLY over my head. okay i understand oops, i fix it.
the stunt still moves. Maybe it wasn't directly over my heard again, idk. so my flyers getting pissed, but in reality its not just my fault. the side base steps away, i don't have it over my head, and the flyer sticks her butt out bends her knee and leans to the side even when its over my head. i'm not complaining and saying its not my fault this is happening, cause it basically is my fault. but when everyone gets frustrated THEY ARE SO MEAN TO EACHOTHER. like everyones cursing and throwing mean and unnecessary comments around, like i just want someone to be positive in the stunt and give constructive criticism, not mean comebacks... ugh i hate it. and im not saying the people in my stunt are mean either, its just when were frustrated no one takes any blame, so i just take it. and it like upsets me that everyone yells at me. WHATEVER haha ive needed to say this for a while lol
P.S. i love my stunt group <3

My pet peeve is when a team competes at a level 4.2 all year then at Nationals comes down to a level 2 because they don't offer 4.2. Find a level and stick with it.
Crossovers from higher levels that come down just for big competitions. Its like telling the rest of the team that we don't think you can do it unless we bring in the "big guys" - hurts lots of feelings

My guess is your a flyer...and ok seriously do you honestly think I drop my flyer...and puhlease Its genuinly hard...Im 6 foot and change I guide the stunt the whole way up all she has to do is her little part...I do the whole thing...

Ok so my guess is a bitter flyer

Feel the need to vent - got a call from one of the coaches at 11 last night and a parent on one of our junior teams decided LAST night that they could not afford to go to Atlanta this weekend. They have 2 kids on the team. The team has 1 practice left before cheersport and they need 2 fill ins. Tonight should be their night for polishing the routine - not for teaching it to 2 people. My cp really wants to concentrate on just her team this weekend and have fun - but now she has to double compete! (not venting because she has to double compete - she would do anything to help out the gym and her coaches)

Yes it sucks that they can't afford to go and we all have financial issues from time to time. But they really should have figured that out earlier. Some people forget that cheerleading is the definition of "Team Sport" and there isn't a bench like in other sports where we can just put someone else in. I'm very sorry for your troubles and I know how that is because it's happened to me a few times.

I hate when I'm put at the back because I don't pick things up quickly first time.

I'm not terrible. Just teach me it via mirroring and I'm fine!!! <3

I hated being in my HS stunt group and the two bases relied on me to basically lift the entire stunt because one girl was weak and didn't want to work out and the other was lazy and didn't want to try (she seemed more concerned with the 'status' of cheerleader-which was useless in my school because nobody cared about cheer). I mean, I was decently strong but I'm not He-Man. Cue the destruction of my back and my dislike of lazy people.
