energy drinks are gross and for me unless i drank them right before competing then i would crash before i even competed. and if i did take one i would puke on the mat haha
i nearly did that once. its the worst feeling ever, especially having to compete while youre feeling gross.

My neighbor had a heart attack from drinking too many energy drinks. He drank like 2 a day. He was an addict on them. It can also cause seizures.

So does having babies, people still do that all the time ;)
Actually, that reminds me for some reason that I forgot to mention there are scientific studies that have shown caffeine to be beneficial to daily workouts (i.e., you can run faster, longer, lift heavier, etc. )

I have seen a marathon runner who was very in shape go into cardiac arrest while running right after drinking a Red Bull. Stay away from energy drinks while doing physical activity!!

Energy Drinks are soooo dangerous! they speed up your heart rate soooooo fast!!!

There are 'Red Bull' cars that drive around the 'City and pop up in various places giving out free Red Bull. Unless you have experienced the horror of a group of 40-50 preteen-teen kids souped up on energy drinks, you don't know fear. I could have powered a small country with the amount of energy these kids were running away with.

so does exercise, adderall, coffee, iced tea, etc... it's the amount you consume, how sensitive to you are to stimulants, and whether or not the energy drinks you consume contain certain herbal mixtures (sometimes powerful stimulants like the energy drink redline..now that's a bad idea).

are they great for us? no...but it's like the coffee habit to the new generation. how many adults do know who drink up teen cups of coffee a day? i'm not saying that's great for you either...but basically someone just found a way to bottle coffee in a tastier way for younger people.

i know it's appalling to us that kids drink so much of them (i don't let my little girl have them..but she's 5), but i know my husband's father told me that they used to give him coffee in his bottle as a baby!! A BABY! He's healthy as a freakin horse and he can drink like 3 cups of coffee and go straight to bed...oh i should also mention he's from central america before anyone completely freaks out.

me on the other hand? i can't have caffeine past 6pm bc i already have trouble sleeping and i'm sensitive to it's effects after a certain time. i can have one red bull a day and be fine..but anymore than two and it's not a good thing.

Its weird that people target tobacco, alcohol, energy drinks, tanning, and other stuff like that, and they don't give a crap about the stuff we're eating from the grocery store. If most people knew what was in 90% of the stuff people eat, they would think twice about putting it in their mouths. I'd be afraid to put it in a hazardous waste trash can.

i have a picture of one of those!!

I'm on a 11 hour car ride to cheersport overnight with 4 girls from my team since we're all in college, lots of energy drinks for the ride lol it's the only way we'd make it lol

I agree with this almost everything in the grocery store has things in it people dont even know. Especially meats. Non-organic meats have many bad side effects that most people dont even know about.

i'm not a fan of energy drinks(too much sugar for me) but i drink a lot of coffee- anywhere from 3-10 cups a day. and, this is straight black coffee(no milk, sugar, sweetener etc). is that just as bad? i've never had any side effects from it.

there ain't nothing wrong with actually sleeping to get energy...

I know lots of people have trouble sleeping through the night or getting enough sleep for their body to feel fully rested. I for one can't sleep through the night and I never feel fully rested so sometimes I do rely on energy drinks or coffee. I think the key to anything potentially dangerous is MODERATION.
