All-Star Cheersport Day 2 Thread

Part of the issue IMHO relates to the "system" itself. If your team already has a Full Paid Bid to Worlds and you are competing at a Competition like Cheersport where teams are attempting to get Full Paid bids--unless those teams completely bomb their routines both days--the Competition Sponser will find a way to "score" those teams so that they will either win the division or end up in second place bumping your team down

I wish people would realize how difficult it is to do this with a judging panel.

Play "mythbusters" with me and point out a few specifics (no team names or division here) or PM me with full specifics and I'll do what I can to find out why your team didn't place how you wanted.

If you don't want to try and find out the full story, people will just read your post and think you are bitter and complaining because the judges didn't see it the way you did.

Didn't pink have a mistake day 1? Well difficulty or not clean wins. And if they were that far ahead day one I'm sure all they ha to do was hit.

I no longer cheer nor was I at cheersport but I read from a tweet that on day 1 pink was told to "watch their timing" on their high to high's... but in reality they're rippled. That may have been a reasoning behind the initial gap in scores but like I said I wasn't there and haven't heard anything since that one update on twitter

CheerSport is the biggest chess match of a scoresheet. I saw several teams who were very talented but did not put together a routine that scored well. It is just such a different philosophy from others and how things are traditionally done. So part of the game is not just having the talent, it is putting together the elements that score well. Very few teams can runaway by having more firepower (probably one of the more attractive things about cheersport to people?). Cheersport is the ultimate example in law of diminishing returns.

We stayed Sunday night and I was BLOWN AWAY! You girls were awesome! I am glad we stuck around after Smoke's awards.

The judges may have felt that way not because they didn't recognize the ripple, but because the ripple doesn't end when the spelling of GYMTYME does.

true, but I guess there is a lot of gray area when it comes to interpreting their scoresheet then. the way I read it is black and white: the only section that calls for "strong synch/ripple" to max out on points is tosses.
