All-Star Fun Cheer Nicknames

[NJ Coach]

I've had some fun nicknames for kids on my teams. Some of them were just between coaches though lol
GPS...always got lost in routines.
George...as in George Jetson, cause she could be a little spacey sometimes
Houston....as in "Houston we have a problem". At least once a practice she would come up to us with some issue she was having lol.

Stems: Flyer who is all legs and no torso. She has the hardest times with inverts because she "can't control the stems"
Beef: Nicknames of 0ur two mid layers that midded the 120 lb top girl.
Queen Beef: The 120 lb top girl
BDA (Big Dumb Animal): One of our boys. Self explainatory
Midge: Our 4'10" top girl

Emileigh was given the nickname peanut by her very first coach when she was 6. She was SO small compared to the rest of the team. Here's a pic. She's the really tiny one in the back.

When we moved to Twist & Shout her teammates started calling her nano because there was a girl on the team that they called mini because she was so little and Emileigh was even smaller than her so they needed a name that was smaller than a mini. lol It was really cute and made her feel real special on the team.

They use to call my daughter Mufasa because her hair looked like a lions mane because she would never let me straighten it until competition days....lol Now they just call her BB which started at High School and has now transfered over to All-Stars!

fetus- she used to be the smallest flyer on our team but now she grew but we still call her that
Sully- we have 2 haylies on the team on needed a nickname
Monster- She is a beast tumbler
Ninja Nina- she super tiny and is like a ninja when she flys
Shear Bear- our coach
Tree- a girl that has mile long legs
teddy- looks like a teddy bear when he jumps
Tex- she moved from texas
twin- a girl and i look a lot a like so we call each other twin team is a little "

My sister was 'Mufasa' and 'Not so big Maddie' because of the hair thing written above and she is 5"4, which at my school is tiny.
I was 'Scar', being her sister and 'Little Lauren.'

My best mate is the BFGG (Big, Friendly Ginger Giant)
And I once knew a guy called Jack, and we called him Meep. No reason.

On one team I'm on my stunt group is beefy, because one day our coach was telling us that we needed to be aggressive and own our stunts, and then he said, except that group. They're beefy. We yell beefy in the middle of the stunt

On the other team I'm on, my stunt group is called tall group. Pretty obvious, tallest bases, tallest flyer, tallest back. I come from a team of midgets, this team is the only place where 5 ft 6 is considered tall.

I had a coach last year who didn't call people by there names, you might know him, he's famous for not calling people by there real name ..
mine was Smiley because i never smiled when i did jumps but when i did he loved it. but by the end of the season i hated the team due to people harassing me to punch me making me come home from cheer crying .. he called me "grumpy" because i would always have a mad or sad face on. and this other girl was grumpy too because her face was kind of looked grumpy when she was okay.
roboarms because my friend got her arm out of place and she had to wear these things that look like she was a robot for the longest time.
i can't say anymore or i'll revealed the name of my team.

I had EXTREMELY naturally curly hair when I was younger and in cheer... when I was the youngest girl on senior team, I was called "Exploding Q-tip" (because I was lanky and thin, with a explosion of hair on top) , but when I got older, I learned the way of the flat iron, and because I was always such a know-it-all about cheer, my nickname changed to "cheer Jesus" ......

I can't even think of all the things the director at my old gym called me. Hahah but the one that sticks with me the most is Bow Queen (self explanatory).

A few years ago, our choreographer gave everyone nicknames because he couldn't, nor did he want to, remember everyone's name. So he called me Brace, because at the time I wore a knee brace.

And then a nickname my best friend on my team gave me was Ugly and I called her Fatty. It started out by me joking around telling her she was too fat to fly, hence Fatty. Then she decided to get back at me and call me Ugly.

Another friend and I started calling each other Dory on our flight to Cheersport, and that stuck for a while

I'm sure I have more, but I just can't think of them at the moment..
