All-Star Uniforms...shorts Or Skirts?

I started this thread in newbie section last week but thought I would post it here now! I've noticed that shorts are a big trend now! Some prefer the classic skirts and some like the shorts! What do you think? Post pics of your favorite uniforms with shorts if you have any!

Im a fan of the skirt. Its traditional old school cheering (even though they are 1/3 of the size they used to be). I also believe its alot more flattering on larger cheerleaders then the shorts are. Both have the pros and cons but I tend to lean more towards skirts.

Skirt!!! I understand the movement that a short provides, but I feel if we go shorts, we might as well go leotard. It's tradition to be in a skirt. I love Stingrays skirts, they are simple and they look great!

i love both though i have a skirt for one team and shorts for my other. I think it just depends on the style of the uniform. here are pics of both one is new this year and the other uniform is 3 years old now. I really love both i just dont like how our skirts can fly up but also short can ride up too but imo it really does depend on the style of the uni

I have always loved skirts. I haven't done allstar, but when I cheered in high school, my fave skirts were actually the flyaway skirts. I never had to deal with them riding up/flipping up, and they looked dang cool during dance sections. I bet they'd look awesome for fullups and doubledowns too. The shorts don't flatter, and they look massively uncomfortable.

i tend to lean more towards skirts however im not completely against shorts either i do feel however that unless designed perfectly alot of the shorts look like spanks and that drives me crazy

From far away, shorts look the same as skirts (tiny!), expect shorts STAY PUT. You don't see girls tugging on them. There is a reason that gymnasts don't wear skirts... and AS cheer is heading in this direction, function over fashion!

@CIAgiraffe I loove your day two uniforms. Usually Im not a huge fan of the shorts but that uniform looks so clean and perfect with them.

Our gym has both skirts & shorts so the coaches decide , all the teams can be different or the same.
