I actually use a home remedy my grandma makes but only during the winter because my uniform is sometimes orange and I am VERY PALE so I look like a ghost lol. idk how she does it but she makes this lotion that you apply heavily all over your body and then 15mins later you wash it off in the shower and you have a nice natural looking tint to your skin that lasts about 3weeks. Def helps during the winter when I don't want to pay to get a mist

Jergens natural glow express is the best! You can build it over 3 days it doesnt streak or make you look orange. The smell isnt bad either. I live off this stuff.

Jergens doesn't work for me... Mystic Tan all the way! I'm super pale so I never go dark. I love the color of light but it doesn't last long enough so I have to go for the more unnatural looking medium. I'd rather that over my natural color though!

Seeing that most of ya’ll on this thread use self-tanning lotions, what do ya’ll do around the ankles and wrists so that it isn’t so noticeable that its self-tanner and not real? Cause if you do too much around the wrist and ankles, they turn orange, and then your fingers/back of hand & feet/toes are starch white! Does anybody have any good tips for avoiding pale hands and feet?

Interesting topic. My daughter Ashley who is on TG IO5 has recently started working for a company here in South Florida that is bringing a product that has been very successful in South America to the states. It is called Rayito Del Sol. It is a lotion that actually gives you that natural tan look without the sun.

From their website: "Contains a balanced blend of hues to create the perfect golden glow. Enriched with calendula plant extracts, Bronzage Instant Color nourishes and moisturizes the skin to give the illusion of a natural tan.
Because it’s made from all natural ingredients, this lotion is safe for everyday use and can be applied to any part of the skin. Works great under makeup for a beautifully sun-kissed complexion."

If you're interested message me and I will give you more info. It's really reasonable and a healthy alternative to tanning salons (and much less expensive with better results).

there is a spray tan gun you can buy from sally's, it comes with the gun plus one bottle of the tan for about $12, it's a great deal...then you just buy the refills, about $8...it is only one color but it works great...one coat for a light tan, two coats for a deeper tan and so on...i like to always do two coats personally...it's easy to do, i always have someone do it for me to make sure it's nice and even, i used it on a few of my friends last year before competitions and also used it for myself.

there's also a professional product called FAKE BAKE, you can get it in a lotion, mousse, gel...etc. i have it in a gel, and it's incredible, the second you put it on you already have a darker tone, and it progressively gets darker (about 7 hours or so i think) since it is a professional product, you would probably have a buy it at a salon that carries the line, or maybe online as well.

oh one more thing, i haven't personally used these, but i know a few people who have and they work wonderfully as well...the tan towels! they give you a great tan, not orange at all.

I use Le Tan, comes with a sponge applicator that is useless everywhere (except the hands). You apply it just like moisturiser and it's nearly impossible to screw up - and it you do just have a looooong hot shower and exfoliate the bits that didn't work out so well. Biggest tip: use a nail brush to scrub your palms after applying tan!

And while I agree that the aesthetics shouldn't be a part of the athletics of cheer, that layer of tan gives me confidence :D

Back in the 70's/80's iodine in the baby oil was popular for tanning. Maybe she adds iodine

I used to spray tan my little one for pageants. I spray her for all comps. It makes a huge difference on stage and a monumental difference in those action shots. I have professional equipment and recently became certified. I'd like to start a buisness this year tanning kids for comps. I need a few kids that will let me spray them and use them as models in my promotional material. please message me if you are interested.

Anyway, moving on past the ad confusion...

I LIVE for fake tans. I don't ever get tan....ever, so I Mystic all the time. I also like the Neutrogena MicroMist spray and the "Build-A-Tan: Face" stuff they used to make, but I haven't seen that in a LONG time. I recently bought the St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse but haven't tried it out yet; I have only heard good things about it, though!
