these women that play beach volleyball are noted on how sexy they appear as well as how competitive they play and how well they can do it

now im not saying this is an excuse for shorter tinier bathing suit uniforms but its just a case to be made - on that note most cheerleaders are already stereotyped on the "sexual appeal" they have you can thank the nfl for that, now i dont really have a clear point here but honestly before you attack what you see gym owners creating think first what you allow your child to see and emulate

So the shorter our skirts are and the shorter our crop tops are, we'll become better cheerleaders?

no that really was not my point at all i said its no excuse for a shorter tinier bathing suit uniform meaning that i dont think uniforms should be smaller then they are already i was simply stating that there are athletes out there that compete in smaller uniforms and nobody seems to complain about them

my other point is that with the fierce uni the pose the little girl is doing is more provocative then the uniform she was wearing therefore teach your child right from wrong whats appropriate and whats not before you start attacking a program

and no i dont believe sexy should be used to describe a sport at all but honestly most times women do something there is always a way to construe it as sexy - cleaning for example - french maids have been glorified by the male gender

OK, while I DO stand by my original statement that the top is just plain too skimpy for the little girls in it, I will give you this one. In that particular photo it is most definitely the pose that is just making it go from "Oh...that's a VERY skimpy top on such a little girl" to "OMG...someone should smack her mother six ways from Sunday for allowing her to pose that way at all, and worse...allowing the picture to ever see the light of the INTERNET!"

Parents - you are actually still in charge here, despite what your gym may tell you. Raise your children, teach them right from wrong/appropriate from inappropriate...and stop letting gyms tell you what YOUR child is/is not going to do!

:banghead: Ugh..this just burns me up when I see these things. ssccxnce is totally right - this pose is what's really killing me. The uniform is something I would not put MY child in, but my cp doesn't go there so if those moms are ok with it, then so be it...the pose is something I would actually call the mother out on to her face.

Still doesn't show :(

Excuse me. That child is posing PROVOCATIVELY?????????????????? Did you really just say that. WOW. I have a million pics of my kid at Disneyland and in groups with little gingham shorts, and swirly dresses and tiaras and pink bows in her hair in that same little girl sticking her belly out and shifting her hips pose. AND NONE OF THEM are provocative because she is not in a 2 inch wide cheer uniform. Attack the program. Not the little girl. Period.

ADMINS, can you please delete the picture of the little Fierce girl from this thread she is now being blamed for being a kid and having her picture made at a cheer competition. Sheez. mstealtoyou kingston @ANy freaking one with a brain in their head.

It's also not like these little girls are walking around town in these unis. It's just for competition and personally I don't think it's a big deal.

Being that it is just for competition.... PARENTS need to take responsibility for their children and make them wear warm ups over their uni or put ur practice clothing over it......

Also In this Area where Fierce Is located... they are definately NOT the only All Star gym around..... so apparantly these parents dont see an issue with the uniform so thats on them ....and the gym owners.... i dont think its something we should worry about because we know how we are represented with the gym that we chose to be with ....AGAIN a uniform needs to be functional whatever size it is or shape or design ...as long as its functional im cool with it....from pics ive seen... the fierce uni isnt all that functional because these pix show girls bras hanging out and butt cheeks as well....to me thats not functional....NOT sayin they are the only team with unfunctional design.....just using them as an example

I think when it comes to older girls, not tiny/mini/youth age, the "sexy" feeling is more of a performance thing. It's just like how coaches say sometimes their girls perform better when they have the biiiiig curls. It's not just that it looks prettier, it makes you feel prettier. My uniform that makes me feel gorgeous, makes me want to turn it up when I perform. Just a thought!

i completely understand your point...BUT...as an ATHLETE ...i really dont care what you put me in... im not at a comp to look pretty or impress anyone with my looks or hair or makeup....i am there to show you all my skills and all the hard work ive put in.. just recenty the team im on had a uniform mishap because we havent received our real GK uniforms yet so we had a "replacemnt" uniform... some of my teammates were complaining about how it looked or fit...but honestly... i didnt care .... i was there to show off my skills ..you couldve put me in a fuzzy rainbow outfit and i still wouldve went out there and worked that routine.....
