I will be taking the Marta the whole weekend. I have it mapped out and will have times mapped out as well so I won't need to pay for parking (unless we go out before or after the comp) i'm lucky enough to have family to stay with while in ATL and won't need to pay for a hotel room :-D i'm very excited and will start walking to start building up my endurance lol
Still make sure you have plenty of time. last year we took the Marta and it was CRAZY!!! So many kids trying to cram on the trains, it took us 30+ minutes or so then we walked back one day and it was like a 5-10 minute walk. lol

Just saying, and someone prolly already has, I HATE HATE HATE that they do Division 1 and 2 for small senior and Small Coed 5 and whoever else, it's so ridiculous, I don't want 2 winners of cheersport for those divisions, i want one, one team, domination station haha...ok I'm ok now :D

I'd rather it be correct.

There is no human way to judge that many teams that span that many hours at an event and determine the correct placements. It may be simple to choose the National Champion and quite possibly the last place team, but the teams in the middle get lost and those placements matter just as much to the people involved.

I would say the most important thing is to be early!!! If ur coaches ask you to be there at 10 try to be there by 9:30 (but that's just me)....also if you have not done so go to gwcc.com and purchases the parking pass (for the red deck...it's the closest one) because last year the deck was full by 7am :( because so many people purchased them ahead of time

the parking lot was full by 7am???? So what do you do if you pay ahead for parking and it's full? My plan is to have husband drop me and cp off then he can go park. Since we have a mini we will have to be there at "dark o thirty" as my veteran senior level cheer mom's call it.

See, these are good tips. I will start a thread! ;)

It sure seems a shame to have a NATIONAL championship and have no true NATIONAL champion :/

The schedule was updated today, I am in the process of adding the changes to my spreadsheet, will post later tonight, unless someone beats me to it :)

It's hard to believe my cp has been cheering for 7 years and this is my FIRST Cheersport nationals!!! I have never been to Atlanta and I am a littl escared lol...i have gotten hundreds of tips from other parents but this has still gotten me nervous...
i'm with you! i am excited but nervous for cp. this is her first year and as a mini she is competing against 15 teams! i am a bit of an optomist but i see atlanta as being pretty tough competition. i just hope they aren't last or even close to last. my cp is competitive so she will be really upset!

i am also worried about being late to warm ups etc. since it's so big and there will be so many people! maybe we should start a thread on tips for first timers! i read the wiki which helped to give me a feel for the event and the flow of things...
I'm excited for you guys to experience the glory that it Cheersport! It honestly was the best weekend of my life, no exaggeration. It can sound overwhelming but once you get there and become immersed in a flood of people all together for the same love of cheerleading it all fits into place and feels just right. Also remember to get your free blankets early!

If Spirit Sports was the biggest competition I've ever encountered to date, I don't think I will know what is going to hit me at Georgia. I'm so excited!

That ship sailed a LONG time ago. (Not CHEERSPORT specifically, but the event producers in general.)
Hahah True! still sad to see some of the biggest names come to the same comp and not compete against each other when they are in the same division

Technically it was not full at all but all the spaces were already paid for so the Lot Full sign was already on....this will be the first time since 1998 that I will not be ther at "dark o thirty" (love that)

Wait a minute how am I just now realizing that Cheer Athletics is going to be at Cheersport
That right there makes it so tempting to make the hour drive to Atlanta.
