Quick question: one of these threads is talking about people who won the triple crown...did KE do it 2010? I cant remember if they won NCA or not.

I feel like the only reason they get "special treatment" is because it seems like cali chooses what teams will be the super star team. Last year it was Cali Coed and this year it's SMOED (hence kiera knowlin moving teams.) I'm not from CA so I might be wrong but that's just what it seems like to me.

Cali doesn't choose "super star teams." Kiara moved to Smoed because the gym smoed practices out of is closer to her house than coed which was a 2 1/2 - 3 hour drive which is the main reason however, there are others.

Such nonsense, I cant even believe this especially when elite just won Dallas and IntOC5 is sponsored by Varsity.

sidenote...anyone who sits through a SMOED practice would laugh at the notion they get special treatment being from Cali...just sayin

Right? This person is oblivious and it is quite obvious.

Yes, I wish Mysterious could have gone to NCA to compete with the big dogs. Maybe next year;) ????
I would say whoever hits a routine will be in the top 3, but unfortunaletly that has not been the case in the past. I beleive you should have a flawless routine to be in the top 5, hense why our sport is the way it is. World's is the best of the best and I beleive you should be the best to win. Example: gymnastics. you dont see any gold medal winners making a mistake. They are practically perfect.

My predictions for top 5 in no particular order:

Smoed
PCM
Brandon
Rockstar
Smoke
??? ASR ( I havent seen them, but from NCA first day rankings I have to consider them)

Cheer has score cards.. Flawless is great but a "flawless" routine with single fulls over and few touches on a routine full of doubles?.... Score cards count... Great coaches understand how to max out a score card... Too many people judge success or failure based on stunts hitting... Overlooking there are more sections to the score card...IMO

Based on the statement of your opinion, (which is contradictory in nature), I'd have to say that a lesson on scoring would do you wonders to understand why teams are able to absorb imperfections in their routine and still contend for a medal, or in some cases win all together.

Perhaps Coach Troy would be willing to educate you on the inner working of the scoring systems, as well as offer an explanation behind why a team that is so far ahead in many areas of the score sheet that they can absorb deductions, and still be successful in the final results.

As a coach herself, I'm pretty sure she's educated just as much as Troy on a scoresheet. Her teams are some of the better performing teams in our program. Lol

Well I'm not seeing the substance in her argument unless it was a personal dig.
If that's the case, then disregard my post which assumed that she was ignorant (proper use of the word) in terms of scoring.

She wasn't making a dig at all. You don't know her, so it's hard for you to understand. She's a stiffler for perfectly executed routines. She can't stand routines looking otherwise, from any gym or program. No dig on Smoed. I swear, they're great, but it's not always about them...lol. SOT fell/had issues and still medaled a few years ago too. Smoed aren't the only ones..

I didn't say anything about SMOED? LOL, people have learned better then to talk negatively about them by now. ;)

It's fine, I guess I just don't get her argument and as a coach, would see her opinions as more parental in nature then reasonable like a coach.

Or maybe you just have two different coaching methods....lol. All I know is, shes a great coach, who knows more about a scoresheet than most. ;p

I guess that she would argue that Senior Elite was also not deserving of their Gold Medal in 2010?
But lets not go there, because I really don't want to get nasty tonight. Good Luck to you guys!
