Great, USASF. So you're going to penalize my son for doing the same thing the girls do? Oh, and you're going to tell him not to bother to learn elite tumbling, because the only place he would be able to throw it is a gymnastics meet?

So basically, the boys are there just to be bases and backspots and as ornaments for the girls. #YouSuckUSASF

So how long before someone decides to sue for gender discrimination?

There's change blowing in the wind. Overhall of usasf, split from usasf, change of board of directors? Who knows, but there will be change. I'm hoping it is all for the good. I think it's strengthened the bonds between us, which is never bad.

I think Ive gotten almost 100 shimmies in the past 4 hours...

I was tardy to the party, but I never realized how much I look up and rely on the leaders in our industry. Reading this I immediately thought, WHERE'S COURTNEY, VICTOR, HAPPY, JODY, KINGSTON, ELAINE, TANNAZ, DEBBIE, etc. I was completely lost and it was such a relief to see some of the leaders of the industry with power and pull take a stand. I was literally in tears for obvious reasons. Much respect to Ceacoach . We can always count on you to "save us all"

What are the chances they will change their mind? Can they afford not to with how many people are upset? What next?

If you're not, Is it really that satisfying putting your team's best performance up against a completely watered and dumbed down big dog's routine? As the saying goes for great teams: Even when they water it down, you better believe that is some HIGH QUALITY H2O! This isn't going to stop big gyms from dominating if that's what the USASF is trying to acomplish. They are still going to be the same innovative, trend setting gyms that they've always been. The reason they kick everyone else's butts is because everyone else in their division is doing half-a** versions of the skills that these gyms came up with 5 years ago. Orange could probably go out, throw their opening tumbling, stunts, and a hand full of doubles. Then they could just freestyle their dance and put up a thigh stand pyramid, and I bet you they still make it to Day 2 of Worlds.

Before I log off to sleep for my unstudied for test tomorrow (thanks USASF), I just wanted to say how much I loved this thread I think it kept me sane with the new rules, some of the rules and/or suggestions just erked me and the ages are really going to effect the teams I'm supposed to be coaching, I wasn't in the gym tonight and couldn't get a hold of the other coaches so this was my only outlet and calmer. So I would like to say Thank You to everyone who posted on here, I probably would have lost some hair if I didn't see this amazing pull together of the industry. This industry is truly amazing when there is something we all support or should I say don't support.

Les is suppose to get the rules committee together and have an answer to all of this no later then Monday. I think that with this blow up if they don't fix some of it then things will not pan out well for them.

ETA: They have already lost 1 member of their committee/group, Jamie Parrish, so that right there should scare them to do something.
