Stop complaining before they make full tops mandatory for everyone! Seriously..... It's a uniform... they can go back to old school w/ turtlenecks and all would you rather that?!

All they are trying to do is keep the "sport" athletic and not a fashion show. There is not a thing wrong w/ being clothed... and while I know some uniforms and crop tops are appropraite and some programs respect the age level of thier participants some push the envelope... I liked the comment be a bikini model.... HA

Really, at the end of the day if your child is getting the instruction they need, going to the competitions you want, in a program where it is a healthy environment and a good fit for you, does it really matter if the girls wear crop tops or not?! Just seems silly.

or sparkly spankies for that matter...that just draws too much attention to private parts and I think that's inappropriate.

I think its dumb and point less for one because no one but the gym and the kids partners should have any say in what there kids wear. Second this is to funny senior teams hello people there are 12 year old kids on senior team so it ok for them to wear it because there on a high team and not for lower level kids in junior teams. . . and if it does go over good luck to all those southern teams in full top Top Gun I feel you. . .

Yea, I've read a lot of opinions at this point and my conclusion still stands. This country is FULL of people who feel like certain things should be restricted, but often that jeopardizes the very liberties that our country prides itself on for our people.

Are some teams too much in my personal opinion? YES. Are some gyms' unis absolutely adorable in my personal opinion? YES. At the end of the day, they are my opinions though and I don't think someone's opinion should govern other people's free rights. The parents, gym owners, and athletes should have a final decision, END OF STORY. They are the ones wearing it, buying it, ordering it, being comfortable/uncomfortable in it.

I'm sure there are tons of people who think guys shouldn't be able to do drag or dress in tight clothes, or say girls shouldn't shave their hair off or wear super baggy clothing, but it's America and everyone SHOULD have that liberty. This sport included. I get everyone agreeing with full tops for minis/youth, but start that conversation at YOUR GYM and for YOUR ATHLETES if your opinion is that strong about it. Walk up to the coaches you think have gone too far with concern. But to regulate this on a large scale? Absolutely not.

I said this in the big thread but this isn't about what an individual can wear - so yes, a 10 year old on a senior team can wear a crop top while a 14 year old on a junior team can't. This is about what an entire junior or youth team of mostly 10 year olds wearing crop tops looks like versus a senior team as a whole.

That is fine that you feel the issue is what an entire team of jr or youth wearing crops looks like vs a senior team...I personally think the crops look better on the younger kids. So my rule would be crops for little kids, full tops for older.

If you are looking for modesty then join a gym with full tops or join a choir and wear a robe....;)

This is obviously so that Varsity can sell more uniforms. I say all gyms stick it to them and refuse to order any unis from them. Make do with what you have and throw a black bodysuit under existing crops to make them 'full top.'

There are still 3 full seasons before this rules goes into affect - how many extra uniforms do you really think Varsity is going to get from this?

This is the most idiotic rule I have ever seen.
"image" really USASF...
Crop top, full top, shot skirts, long skirts, shorts.. These are individual choices. Uniforms are a reflection of the owners of each gym. Some like tresitional, some out of the box. Some like Full tips some recognize that a more athletic look is what they prefer. And the individual parent gets to decide what side they fall on.
As for most of the rest it is common sense stuff no need for it

This makes no sense!!!
So would girls, say crossing on a youth 3 and senior 3, have to buy two different tops?

My gym already only does full tops for junior and under teams. It's not about modesty, it's about how we're viewed outside of the industry. Read this article and look at all the emphasis that is placed on what the little girls are wearing and their makeup and their facials rather than their athletic achievements and tell me that nothing needs to be done. Uniforms in every other sport are designed with the athletic needs of the sport in mind. We don't NEED crop tops, they're more comfortable and arguably a requirement for coed stunting, but I don't know any stats that show that the skills of junior and under teams are impeded in any way by crop tops.

I don't mind this rule change one bit. Sorry but seeing overweight cheerleaders with their bellies overhanging their skirts is just too much sometimes. And you can see how many poor girls don't like their uniforms, just watch how many girls walk around all day with their hands wrapped around their waist trying to cover their bare bellies. The only time crop tops look decent is when your physically fit with 0% body fat.
