I'm going to officially go on record as saying I think a show about Allstar Cheer Mom's would be a very bad idea!!! Imagine what idea and image the general public would get from a show like that. An idea and image that no amount of full length tops will erase!!!

Sucks that we have to be so fearful of the media turning our sport into a pop culture phenom and that we already know ahead of time that there is plenty of drama and scandal associated with our sport that would make the public think poorly of all-star cheerleading. :(

They need to have a cheer moms all stars because HS doesnt compare to the competitiveness of all star gyms and their parents/athletes.

I wouldn't go that far. There are several high school cheer programs that are incredibly competitive. Those teams who compete at UCA take high school cheer very seriously.

The idea of any kind of reality show about allstar cheer scares me. The shows that they had about cheer that were not filled with drama didn't last on TV, Cheerleader Nation and the one that followed UK and USF. People feed off of that drama too much and then turn something that we all see as normal into something horrible. Like Toddlers and Tiara's, the costume and makeup is normal for them and has been for years, but because of how it is shown on TV viewers make those parents would to be horrible for putting their daughters in it. I could imagine if all star had a show like Dance Mom's the viewers would thinks parents are awful for putting their children in itty bitty uniforms and makeup.

A teacher at my school has a daughter that figure skates, they were asked about Ice Moms, but the club turned it down.

And High School Cheer moms are nothing like All-Star Cheer moms. Gosh, what a terrible idea, at least pick the right group of people!

For those saying allstar moms are worse than hs moms I can fully disagree! I've been a coach for both and there are equally as many parents in both that are horrible to deal with. Its not which has worse moms, its which situation is worse for them. I think what makes HS worse is you have to deal with them. In allstars you can ask them to leave the gym and be done with it. In HS if your AD and principal don't back you there is little you can do about it. If that parent takes it to the school board (which happens often) the board pretty much always gives the parent exactly what they want because they don't want to deal with it, leaving the coaches and principals powerless. I think they are equally as crazy, you can just deal with them better in allstars than you can with schools, which IMO makes schools worse. I still go on record that baseball dads are the worst of all!

Unfortunately for our industry, if they are fishing for cheer moms they will probably get some gym to bite. They will focus in on the glitter, makeup, rhinestones, crop tops, competition hair, etc. and it will be toddlers and tiaras meets Dance Moms.

I wish they would make it more of a cheerleader nation, but follow an allstar team, even though teams that go to UCA/NCA nationals are highly competitive, I think it would be more interesting for an outsider to watch because allstar takes competiting to whole new level. We need a show that premotes cheer and shows how great of a sport it is and the passion that people have for cheerleading, not one that may degrade our sport. Seriously, could someone invent cheer tv!

yes please! I would love that! Back in middle school my guy friends would come up to me and be like "Ready? OK!" and I kept having to tell them that's NOT what cheerleaders do (maybe in 4th grade rec but other then that...) and so having a cheer channel would be educational AND entertaining!

I mean the all star gym I tumble at in the South has got a pretty entertaining group of mothers in the parent room every time I walk into the gym, not THAT would be an entertaining Cheer Moms if they were to make one in the South

I think if they do ever make a show (which I hope they never do) I think it should be kinda like the CNN report that they did with Maddie Gardner, but with the whole team.. and just follow the team around to different comps and such.... They should keep it classy and not make too much unnecessary drama to make our sport look like a bad one.

One of our coaches was approached about a cheer reality show, he already had a skipe interview just to see what it was about...our gym owner isn't too thrilled about the idea.
