Sarcasm...it's a fond trait of mine, I truly mean no harm-but I guess that depends on your sense of humor. I've had that saying for over 15 years...sorry if it bothered you. I wasn't trying to ream you. I simply wanted to know if you would attend a competition if you knew the EP had cheated..that's all (to which I'm still not clear on, but I guess that's my fault?)

To answer your question-No I do not teach her that-actually she'd be terrible at it even if I did bc she tells on herself all the time... When I hear, "mama, I'm not messing in your makeup"...I'm like "oh great, there goes my favorite powder".

Was the mini-mom thing suppose to mean anything? Not sure how that's relevant, but if you feel like it is, so be it I suppose. :cow:
If the EP was reprimanded as they should be, being they don't give out bids that year, or if Worlds get cancelled due to the big Bangkok over one boy cheat, then no one would be going to these events would they. I have no control over where my gym attends. But if a competition was called on the carpet for cheating I do feel my gym owners might rethink if it is the place for us to go. If you strip there bids, then I really think most gym owners would rethink the trip to that event. This is a horrible situation that we have let the greed of our sport come to. I still feel gym and EP are equally wrong! This is the best I feel I can answer your question. But since I am not sure what event you are calling out other than Worlds it is hard to answer, and we did not attend Worlds last year.

Got it, yes, thanks for the clarification! I think it is a perfectly valid question. I think your comparison to Worlds is a murky one, however, because there isn't anything in the sport that is comparable. If you have a problem with, for example, NCA, you could always forego that competition and go to Cheersport, or vice versa, but with Worlds, that is the premier event of the sport. To answer your question, yes, if any other competition altered rules to favor one gym, then I would hope that my gym would not attend that competition in the future. Why would I want to attend a particular competition that admitted to cheating? I wouldn't.
Thank you! I thought maybe I wasn't making any sense to anyone..
Also, that kinda sucks about World's bc it's so prestigious, yet they seem to be the only EP who can technically get away w/cheating? Does that lessen its prestige? Theoretically it should, but obviously it doesn't.

How do I know what is not the case? That the person in question isn't publicly attempting to clear their name? The only answer for that is that I, like most on this thread, do not know anything for certain, simply what we have heard. The person in question from what I have heard, is an active member on this board and has had no problem coming on here and defending their reputation previously. They have used this board before as a means to reach the cheer world to get things accomplished, so I obviously know this is a place to reach a majority of the cheer world. I have yet to see any attempt at that. Does that mean that nothing is happening? No, I'm not going to play like I know the undeniable truth.

This thread is reminding me of the whoadeedle thread, in the fact that their have been many easy ways of figuring out what's going on and who is in question. People could easily figure it out from a few posts on here but they're fishing for someone to spill the beans. Sadly my opinion of the person in question was already tarnished before this, and this will not help. The damage is already done from the little bit of info that has been leaked. I really think the only thing to do is to patiently sit and wait to see if and how the USASF chooses to deal with the situation.
Well, I'm sorry..but the said gym in question isn't going to stop routine camp for the weekend to deal w/rumors on the FB...seriously? You already just said you have bias against that person.

Like StarshipTrooper said... it will come out and the boards will do what they do best... continue w/mass speculation and gossip (not his exact words..but general idea)

If a team isn't competing against anyone? And the EP gives permission? Does anyone care?

Regardless...was there no other athlete from this enormous program that was age-eligible in the entire building? Would you have even asked if you could use a senior-aged athlete to compete at a MAJOR comp with a youth team? I think that's the jaw-dropper to me - the audacity.

Ok im soooooo confused can someone PLEASE let me know whats going on. All of the rumors are starting to run together.

My bias has nothing to do with the situation at hand, so don't know how that fits in here but so be it. I honestly expect nothing from those in question. If its true I expect the USASF to handle it. My opinions of the program/person in question are not pertinent to this topic, however, through my personal bias I have been able to recognize them as a talented program who was a strong competitor. If what is speculated is true it's the latter opinion that will be tarnished for not just me but many. As was stated the truth will eventually come out, and if the truth is that what we all have been hearing is true, I will sit and watch as those with their blinders up continue to find new ways to defend.

but you do have control what gym she attends. If your gym does attend an comp where the EP was publicly held responsible for allowing cheating, or you knew they did cheat, but weren't publicly reprimanded, am I to understand you wouldn't let her compete at that comp? (I'm asking that based on your earlier question to me-do I teach my daughter to cheat as long as you don't get caught).

I would have no problem attending events put on by this hypothetical EP if they cheated or allowed cheating once. Just like I wouldn't turn my back on the gym for one infraction More than once? I'd have to think hard about it but honestly wouldn't know what I would do until I was in the situation. I'd lithe to think that I'd put my beliefs in action, though.

I'm implying nothing. If I have an opinion, I say it right out. I'm merely remarking about what I've been told the situation is, and it's pretty ballsy.
So you think that's what the situation is? That is DEFINITELY not true...funny, but not true
