Should I splurge on a good expensive curling wand or go for a cheap one?
Have you used them before? If not go with a cheap one to test it out. Personally I am terrible at doing hair so I'd go for the cheap one to see if I could even use it and if I was actually good at it then I'd splurge once the cheap one got old.

I'd go with the Inifniti by Conair You Curl. It's pretty inexpensive (around $30 if not on sale) and it works really, really well, and that's coming from someone who has the hardest hair ever to curl. When I've tried other curling irons, the curls just fall, but they stay in pretty well with that one now. I also just bought the Infiniti by Conair You Wave (I couldn't resist, it was $10 instead of $42!), so now I guess I have like a matching set of hair appliances, lol.

tried to tag y'all but couldn't..
I want to get a cheap one and not spend lots of money, but I didn't like the Conair Infiniti. I hated the tapered ends because it made my curls look weird since they went from big to small (might be how I did it though). So now I'm looking at the Sultra Bombshell and Sedu Revolution. That's unless I find a cheaper one that doesn't taper down!

cheerheart4life (cant tag you...) i use this and my curls stay until i wash my hair. its expensive but its durable considering i've had it for 3 years, use it atleast once a week and it still works like brand new!
(excuse my face but my hair looks good. haha)

so weird, i'm having the same dilemma! i have a conair one that's tapered, (it's pink) and it works great. only problem is i feel it just burning my hair off. i have a sedu straightener and i swear by it. whatever that whole ion technology thing is, it works! because i straighten my hair constantly and it's shiny and healthy with no dead ends! so i really want the sedu, but technically there is nothing wrong with the conair. so do i spend the money? grr decisions!

So this has nothing to do with cheerleading but this post is all over my facebook feed right now and I couldn't help but look at it and read all the comments. I don't expect many of you to relate to this at all, but it is just making my blood boil so much right now, like I'm shaking with anger. Being a senior at WVU, however not from the state of West Virginia, I have developed a lot of pride for the school and the state. I just can't believe people can be this low class and heartless to write these comments. Just needed to vent.... sorry guys.
does playing west virginia hurt the image of our program?

ETA: Forgot to mention we are playing 4th ranked Kansas State this weekend in football. FYI we were ranked 5th last week but lost and dropped to 13th, so it's not like we are a bad team

cheerheart4life i use the amika 33mm curling wand! its on the website loveamika.com i bought it at one of the stands in my mall around christmas time... they had a deal with a curling wand, straightener, and hairdryer for like $250... and they were all like 400 all together without the deal! i still use all of them, too

To all the curling wand people: I just bought a Remington pearl one. It looks like it has good reviews and it was pretty cheap. I'll let you know how it goes in a few days when it gets delivered. They also have the Conair one at Ulta. And everything is 20% off on their website today!! (I also got a pack of 5 reversible headbands for less than $3 :) )

Okay I'm gonna splurge... Now to decide which one! Haha:) cause it'll be worth it in the end

99% sure i'll be buying the sedu tonight.. Sedu Revolution Clipless Curling Set | Folica.com

the wand, clips, heat pouch, and the heat protection/most amazing oil stuff is only $99 (when the iron alone is normally $120) and they include the sedu 2-year warranty which also costs more i think? AND the whole site is 25% off tonight. so the whole set is $75. unfortunately the 25% off ends tomorrow, so looks like i'm being impulsive :p

what do you guys use as hair smoothing serum i use to use the got2b smooth satin drops but they discontinued it :(

well.. i gave in. so, at least i'll be able to give you a review. i wish they weren't sold out of the 38 mm though. i have such long hair that i would rather the "beachy waves" look, i think. the 25 mm is still thicker than my current one though :) thank goodness.
