Why change something that doesn't need to be changed? This thread hasn't lasted for 178 pages because people are just posting videos and saying "Oh, that was nice...NEXT!"

In the last stunt, the girl on the left in the prep to hitch.. I realized shes being based by two girls on her left foot and one girl on her right... Plus a back.. Is that legal?

I saw that too! Not sure how they are swinging it , even though they dont have 3 bases for long..something still isnt right.

There is no rule stating a maximum number of bases... so there is no reason having three bases with a backspot would be illegal.

It would be the exact same as if they had a back spot, 2 bases, and a front spot. 4 girls under the flyer. They just happen to be working a little differently. If you watch it close enough there are only 3 girls supporting her at any given time, since the last girl doesn't grab onto the left foot until right before the right foot is released.

Watching all the bases and backs change groups a billion times instead of watching the actual pyramid is like O_O how do you even..?

theyve been doing that stunt since the beginning of 2011. i hate seeing teams do the same stunt or pyramid, etc. over and over again year after year, its not original, and it gets boring to watch personally, if you watch past worlds vids of them they tend to do certain stunts every single year, its just something that i personally cant stand. it may hit the scoresheets yes, but when you start doing the same crap year after year, the routine as a whole is very expected, which in turn makes it not exciting. i still stand by the fact regardless of the hate i may get that Stingrays care more about their reputation of winning, then taking bigger risks and having a unique routine every year.

there is no rule on the placing of the bases, but i believe there is a rule for the amount. at least for baskets there is! maximum of 4 people under a stunt

I believe they've never had all their stunt groups performing high to high tic-tocs. Sooo, that would be stepping it up.
And different gyms have different strengths. Stunts aren't the only thing that make up a cheer routine, and Rays excel in every other category, just like they hit the high ranges in stunting. Just because they don't bust out some South Elite, GBE, PCM, or CEA type stunt doesn't make them "unoriginal" or "caring about winning."
They win because they are possibly the cleanest all girl team in the country.

I agree with you one hundred percent. I would rather see clean skills throughout the whole routine instead of just being stunt masters. All Rays teams have fabulous jumps and personally that is more impressive to me than teams who hit these unbelievable stunts but lacks in other categories. I think T&S Obsession is another well rounded team that always hits the entire score sheet.

I typically enjoy SE's dances in the way I enjoy a good cup of hot chocolate. I don't need it to come from cacao beans hand-picked in the tradition of ancient mayans, being processed in a secret Belgian factory before being delivered to me in my bed by a Swiss person who tops it with whipped cream that's been beaten into peaks with the beating of fairy wings.

Otherwise known as- it's simple and it's calmly enjoyable and it gets the job done.

I LOVE their dance this year. They actually look like they're into instead of it being a fun, happy part. It's about as fierce a dance as I've seen them do, and I dig it.

True. You can only have 4 tossing bases in a toss. This is not a toss. Stunts are in a completely separate section of the rules from tosses.
