No gym names, but what is the bottom line you have to pay to be on your team and what do you get? Are you a small or large gym?

CP cheers at a small gym in a small town, their is one floor for the squads (4) and no A.C., no special room for parents (their are some chairs off to the side we can sit in). We pay $175 a month (includes, comps. and camp) and that gets us 6 comps. Two of them for sure you'll need a hotel from one night to 2/3. Depending on what time your squad has to met, you may be able to cut that down one or two day/night. Tryout fee is $35/40 depending on if you are new or returning and the $30 USASF fee. This year they changed the uniform so it was $325 plus I believe $25 for make-up. They don't get new uniforms ever year so that expense can differ year to year, CP could have worn last years again and we purchased that used for a $100. Practice is 3 days a week/ or 5 1/2 hours a week. From time to time they practice more depending on if they need it and if they are doing good practice gets cut down. I spent $82 on cheer shoes this year for CP but that price can vary as to what brand you purchase (you need shoes). My rock bottom price I had to pay this year not counting travel expenses (gas/food/lodging,), optional wind suit and gym bag, privates or extra tumbling classes was $2,597.00 Their are fundraisers parents can participate in to raise $ for their cp which goes to their account.

I was just wondering how that cost is compared to other gyms. Norm, high or low. Thanks

I believe you are on the lower end of Average.

We were $2500 for the year including comp fees, uniform, warm up, shoes, choreo, music, etc.

It's about $3200, not including travel, extra tumbling, or uniform. CP is at a large gym.

We are at a large gym and it is $3200. Which includes tryout fees, coach fees, tumble class, competition fees, choreograpy, and music. Not included: Uniform, travel and private tumbling.

We are at a large gym...cost runs 4000-4200. It includes reg fees, choreo fee, camp, comp fees, practice wear, uni, warm ups, tumbling, and tuition. Not included are travel expenses.

Medium size gym and roughly $3,000 not including uni/shoes, travel or private lessons. Hate to think of rough cost when I add in our commute just for practices :(

I coach at a small gym that's in it's 2nd season, but I only know the pricing for the Mini team I coach. Everything for the year (tuition, 3.5 hours of practice and 1 hour of tumbling per week, choreography, music, makeup, uniform, shoes, coaches fees, fees for 8 competitions, practice clothes, etc) is just under $2,000. Privates and travel expenses are not included in that, but we only have one travel competition that would be 2 hotel nights at most. Almost all the kids on my team live within 20 minutes of the gym, and the majority of those carpool anyway, so their travel expenses to/from practice aren't much.

Did the calculation two years ago and including travel to 3 competitions by airplane - $4300. We are at a large gym

ours goes by levels, but monthly is around 275.00 season like $3,200 not including the following -travel/hotels, camp price (depends on level), uni's, warm ups, choreo, bows, makeup or sneakers

About 3,000 for small gym not including travel. Just about everything but travel, shoes, uni, and warm ups are broken into payments ($255/mo x 10.5 months) and she is receiving 8 hours/week of instruction. The tryout fee was $40 but included either one or both evaluation 2 hour clinics. We have 6 comps but King of the Jungle and BATB will be the only 2 needing a hotel. I have also wondered about the cost of other gyms so thanks for this thread, I would say your gym is right on.

I own a very small gym in a semi-economically depressed area of Indiana. Our total cost for the year is $1220. Includes all uniform, entryfees for four competitions, etc., as well as monthly tuition - 2 hours of practice per week.
$60/month tuition
$350 entry fees
$100 gym fee (music, choreo, bows, etc.)
$50 uniform rental (plus $50 refundable deposit)
You won't see our uniform in the uniform thread, and we will probably never travel, but lots of kids that can't afford to participate at bigger gyms get a chance to compete.

ETA - one floor, 2 teams that compete, no air-conditioning - although we do have a waiting room :)

Paid $5K up front for two cheerleaders. Doesn't include travel, uniforms ($800 for both) or private lessons. Medium sized gym.

We are around $2000.00 Canadian dollars for the year, not including all the team merchandise I cant live without, travel fees...
