thank you so much! My mom was saying silver shoes but I can't find any that I really like, and I have bad feet so I have to find something really supportive which is almost impossible for a heel lol. But I just have to keep looking! Thanks for the ideas!!

With a long dress shoes aren't a huge deal. I wore nude pumps to my junior prom from TJ Maxx. You couldn't see them anyways and they aren't super fancy so I have worn them several times since!

I have reallllllly sensitive feet (I've gotten blisters from flip flops and uggs. All shoes hate me.) and you might want to think about wearing cute shoes for pictures and then changing into flip flops or tennis shoes (or nfinitys!) for the dance since your dress is floor length. You can even borrow some from a friend and since you wont be in them long, size isn't super important. No one will ever know and you'll be 10000 times more comfortable at the dance.

Eta: if you like toms the sparkly silver ones would be so cute but still comfy!

That's what I was going to say... A lot of girls wore toms last year to prom. As much as I hate them, I'm sure those girls were way more comfortable than I'll ever be at prom!

A lot of the shops in our area keep a log of the dress style and which prom the girl is wearing it to, that way you don't end up with repeats.
They have to do that here too. It actually works pretty well! Until someone orders the same dress online..

I saw this dress in a magazine and I fell in love with it. The only problem is that its really expensive. Does anyone have any ideas on where to look to find something similar?
my dress is Sherri Hill, and I'm almost positive I saw the one you like at the boutique where I got mine. I would suggest looking online for dress shops in your area (the one I went to was actually a 1.5 hour drive), and calling to see if they carry Sherri Hill dresses because they're cheaper in store. I looked up my dress on the Sherri Hill website and it was listed as 600 but it was only 458 at the boutique.

Last year my sister had a Jovani dress and this year I can't think of the designer, but its also another big prom dress designer...and the dresses were both more expensive in store.

Her dress for this year was over $150 more in the store...but my parents purchased it in store anyway just for that slight extra reassurance that nobody else can buy it (shes going to two proms in one night) from either of the proms shes going to.

But a lot of stores here have a lay-away plan...which is good if you don't have the money...or to keep it in the store warehouse for storing

Go shopping with your friends and if you all find dresses at the same store they will usually give you a discount on the dresses. Both my sister and I got extra taken off because we got our dresses at the same store. If they don't offer it to you then ask!

Maybe it's just because the store here is a brand name store (Merle Norman), so maybe they have the ability to discount dresses a little bit.
And wow, two proms in one night? haha, I have to leave prom and go straight to Myrtle beach for battle at the beach, which is about a 5.5 hour drive...no after parties for me! Prom is just one big cheer prob for me this year

My prom is March 23 (yes, same weekend as Battle at the Beach, and I'm competing  ), and I finally found my dress! Now I've just gotta find shoes. Any ideas??

Promgirl.com is awesome! I tried on dresses last year and couldn't find any I liked but had a general idea of styles I liked so I just went online and ordered one. It came in literally 2 days and fit great! I'm literally obsessed with my prom dress I wish I could wear it again!

This past year for homecoming, my CP found a dress she liked locally but couldn't get her size or a size close that could be altered. I found it on Rissy Roo for about 1/2 the price and their service was wonderful.

Wore this 2 years ago for a sorority formal... the theme was "Under The Sea"! Got it from Saks Fifth Avenue (just because they have free altering & I needed a hem), but it's BCBG

And this was my junior prom dress, 5 years ago! Just threw it up here because so many people were talking about Jovani dresses!
