I actually must follow the right people because I haven't seen anything negative so this is a general observation.

My next observation is that you can be as disappointed, angry, hurt etc... As you like. That doesn't mean you have to post it publicly on social media either. You can think/feel anything you want. Why is it necessary to make it public if its negative toward someone else?

I'm not saying I don't wish for the cheer sniper to take out a competitors stunt group...or three... (And anyone who claims they don't silently wish that is lying)...

But I don't chant it out loud in the audience either. How is this different?

Probably because we are adults.. This is life for these kids.. And 2nd place sadly isn't enough at the moment you find out for some. I'm sure tomorrow they will realise how much of an honour it is!

Agreed. And hopefully the adults in their life will use it as a teachable moment for appropriate social media. #everybodywins

That's been my point, too. I get being upset in the heat of the moment. If you're a high-level competitive athlete, losing sucks and it's hard to take. To judge a high-school aged kid because they weren't the model of sportsmanship ten seconds after a crushing defeat is unfair.

A half-hour later or an hour later, though, you have the responsibility as a high-level competitive athlete to accept defeat with dignity and class. That doesn't mean that you're happy you lost, or that you still think you should've won. You can feel that way, but you are now responsible for showing appropriate sportsmanship in public - which includes social media. At that point, if you're not saying anything other than "congratulations to (x) on their trophy" or "proud of the way my team competed", then you shouldn't say anything at all.

Ooh there were a lot of foreign teams that's probably why
Wildcats are up next! JUST kidding, wrong CA haha

Unfortunately that will be the reason. It is just sad to see because lots of those cheer twitters have international followers that would like updates on "their" teams. And with at least 10 (probably a lot more, but I don't follow too many of them) at Disney one of them should be able to give updates on IOC5.
