I was shocked at how little fans there were for Mondays finals. Not at all what I expected :(

People have to go back to work and school, and I'm sure a lot of folks flew out Monday morning rather than stay an extra day to watch teams they didn't have a direct interest in. I'm also sure that a lot of the locals who showed up on Saturday and Sunday couldn't do so on Monday if they had work or school as well. Not the least bit surprised.

It's interesting that we all thought it was going to be more insane than last year - even Sunday didn't live up to my expectations - crowd wise. It'll be interesting to see if they return to the fri/sat/sun schedule to gain more spectators. This years worlds has me pondering so many different things. Maybe it's me - but it just felt off.

Lady Bullets are my equivalent to some people's Senior Elite, F5, etc. I have never been so happy for a team before!! Such a well earned win for them and I don't personally know them, but I am so proud of every single one of those girls! I think I might cry a little, lol. But really. So happy and proud of them!

NOW IT'S TIME FOR SMOED AND SPARKLE TO KILL IT!! #CaliOverEverything #FaithOverFear

Yes, I am in the same boat! I was driving to teach a cheer clinic and almost drove into the median when that popped up on my phone! I remember posting something the day after Worlds 2011 because I was so heartbroken that they took 2nd lol

Not sure if you mean Cheersport Sharks, but this isn't their first globe. They were silver in 2012 & 2007 and bronze in 2009.

So proud of all the first time gyms though! What an amazing experience for them!
Thanks for the correction, I didn't find them in my search and was surprised, I thought I'd seen them globe previous years. I searched on Cheersport (one word) and previous years they were in the wiki as Cheer Sport (two words), LOL! Don't know which is correct?

UNBELIEVABLE.... The USASF should be ashamed of themselves. These kids/coaches work so hard all season. I mean, this year I have only a J1 and an S2, and when they hit their routines at a local, they are jumping up and down hugging each other. I've absolutely run out up to the floor before out of excitement when my kids do well. Sometimes you can't contain that, it happens in the moment. How disgusting that a team should be penalized for being excited about all of their hard work and struggles paying off on the floor of the World Championships...

I usually agree with you, but on this I can see the USASF's reasoning. It seemed to be a trend in previous years that a whole slew of people would rush the floor after almost every team's performance. I can imagine it held up the schedule a bit when people were football tackling athletes and rolling around for hours upon hours. The rule was put in place months ago, so it should have been known, and it was probably in the coaches packet as well (although I haven't seen that packet). Everyone else seemed able to control themselves and wait to celebrate.

I feel horribly for the athletes and the program, but I don't think that the blame lies on the USASF.

Agree, this was not the way to handle it. Rule should be changed, fine the gym, put the offender in cheer jail but don't penalize a bunch of kids who did nothing wrong and everything right :(

I wasn't there this year, but have been for the last 4 years. I don't ever remember sitting in the audience and thinking this team is taking too long to get off stage (and slowing down the competition). Not saying it has never happened but... not sure it was a real problem. I have sat there and thought, wow they are leaving that team standing, waiting to take the floor a long time, or wow I wish this announcer would stop going on and on... (Just my view as a spectator)

For everyone who is "so over these international (=non US) teams": make the Summit take off. If the summit is done right and starts to gives out bids to non US-teams that could be the place where some of these teams might be found in the future. We then only need some lower level open divisions.

YES.... that is the solution! Also, all this nonsense with the US Finals and The Summit both existing is kind of wack.... the USASF needs to sponsor ONE such event, and that's it.

i go take a shower and i have 5 pages to catch up on!

confessions of a fierceboarder: my shower has glass doors so i put my ipad on the counter so i could still watch while i was showering. yes, i went there. i'm ashamed.

Not gonna lie, I have taken the laptop in with me to use the bathroom on numerous occasions this weekend lol.... #nojudgement
