How things have changed... but stayed the same. Crazy.

25 spots on each team! That threw me for a loop.

It was 20 before that. (And only 2-3 divisions, no levels.)

How bright is the arena? Now it is all dark and smokey. Then it was all bright lights.

The production value of NCA has steadily increased and the "stage" lighting now isolates the performers much more. On a related note, entry fee for NCA Nationals was $22 per athlete.

The skills and routines are obviously very different now, but that documentary still is the best one I've seen at capturing what emotions are like at a big competition and the "vibe" behind the backdrop.

I think it is also the least pandering to the audience.

...I still remember being in middle school and watching this over and over.

There was also one with Miss Tammy's All Stars on TLC maybe...but apparently I'm the only one in the world that remembers it existing.

Girl no! I remember the TLC special also! I want to say it followed Miss Tammy's, Cougar Cheer, and Cheer Central Braves! They were all competing in the same division at the Big D!!
