in SE is that first full up stunt suppose to be a double up? because almost all those groups look like there doing a 1 and 1/2 up by how much they turn on the ground before actually fulling up
I think they did the same thing at the beginning of last season with the 1 1/2 ups & as the season went on they they didn't have to turn early to complete it. Panthers look like their doing the same thing. Except that one group that has that extremely fast 2 1/4 up. Lol

Wait sorry, panthers are just completing the double up by the bases turning the last 1/2 or 1/4

In my opinion there's one major difference between Stars and Senior Elite in terms of performance, and I'm basing this off of Worlds day 2. Stars looked hungry, they looked passionate, and they looked like one unit of 36 ladies out there with something to prove. They looked humble, but determined. Senior Elite felt... Cocky. Like they knew they were number 1, they felt nothing could touch them, and that they were out there as a treat to the cheerleading community. Afterall, they WOULD win, but why not show everyone the routine anyway? (trying to make that not come off as a bad thing). It just seemed like a different mindset. Stars' passion came through in their almost desperate hunger, Senior Elite's passion came through in cockiness, and in cheerleading, I wouldn't say either is better than the other, but in that moment I think Stars just kinda came off like they put a little more into the performance of the routine itself, and that they were honoured to be on that floor wearing gold, rather than just executing the skills well. If that makes sense?

I wish you all could have been there! ALL of the kids did amazingly well. The really young kids were nervous to perform with Abby there, but you wouldn't have known! They put an a great show. She was so entertained and amazed by the Elites' performances. It was a great night for our kids!

Please remember that this is our showcase. Whatever you like or do not like about a performance WILL probably change! If you haven't learned, let me remind you that CSP and our coaching staff are genius at reinventing routines...sometimes overnight ;) Senior Elite and the other teams may have some tricks up their sleeves you did not see tonight and will not be expecting...!

i feel like this is a repeat conversation we had last year after their showcase... they always clean up after a few months, then everyone jumps back on the wagon, so to speak.
i feel with all the risky stunting they have packed into this routine this year in my opinion compared to previous years, they might end up having a hard time hitting consistently all season long.
however they had a pretty rough 2011-2012 season, but yet came out on top when it mattered most, so i can never count them out.

It's funny because I feel like the energy/performance vibe changes from team to team and competition to competition. Sometimes you get that hopeful, earnest energy. Sometimes you get that fierce, 'I own this business' attitude. Sometimes you get that kinda girly sassy flavor. Other times it's 'I'm leaving it all on the floor.'

Certain energy seems to come from certain teams, so I think it's more pronounced when something different comes out. I typically get a 'big, over-the-top' energy from Stars, so when their season wasn't going the way they wanted, and they finally found a type of showmanship for worlds, it was VERY obvious.

On a different hand, the same people say the same things every year. I could make a checklist of the boarders who I expect to say something about SE every year while pleading to 'give X team a chance, it's October/November/February.'

I don't get how they came off as cocky? Girls from Panthers were all over social media after they got scores from day 1 at worlds like they had it in the bag. That's being cocky. SE put the hearts out on the mat just as much as WC. But what does that have to do with now? The teams are different groups of girls now. You can't judge a team off of last year, that's not fair in any kind of way to the girls who are new to the teams.

you put how many many many people have been feeling into words that they could not explain. thank you.

Gosh, it's such the opposite..as far as SE is concerned. They were down by over 30 points. They had made so many mistakes the day before. Their coach had given them a practically a brand new routine with shortened music. Most of the kids were new and were not Worlds winners. They had nothing to lose. So, they went out there and did the best they could, to hit their new routine as perfectly as they could, to make up that huge deficit. Most of them were sure they were defeated, but they laid it all on the line and trusted their coach.

Not flashy, I agree. But, if you visit our gym, it's not flashy at all. Our girls work really hard at making very, very, complicated things look easy, and they're serious about their stunting prowess. But mostly, they're just Carolina girls. That's about as flashy as they get.

I think you're taking what he said too literally. I don't necessarily agree with him (in terms of him referring to SE's performance..)but I don't think he means how they acted on social media and actually being "cocky"..but rather the vibe they gave off in performance....

Wow, it's amazing that you can get all of that just through a routine...
There's a difference between confidence and cockiness. And Senior Elite was not cocky.
And if you're talking about things being said on social media, I can find several tweets from other teams that could definitely be proven as "cocky". Even though I didn't read any of those social media posts you were talking about, just because a few girls got on twitter doesn't mean that the whole team is that way. This post is ridiculous.
