Not to be rude, but why are people still bringing up worlds? It's a new season.

I guess my question would be why not? It's a sport. People still talk about Super Bowls from 25 years ago. All sports do it - Chicago is still talking about winning the Stanley Cup and it's a new season. It was only a few months ago. The same routine styles, coaching styles, majority of the same athletes, etc. are still around. Why not bring it up? There are a lot of similarities between seasons, so I think bringing up Worlds is a fair comparison. Just because something has already occurred doesn't mean it doesn't provide a good comparison/analogy/jumping off point. We still talk about the Civil War, the Revolutionary War, slavery, WWII, and even Whoadeedle/appledrink/zta. Sometimes the past makes for good convo, and we can learn from it.

I never thought about it this way before :) I was thinking more of people being rude about how their favorite team did at previous worlds. My feelings about that are that it's in the past, there's nothing you can do about it. Sometimes the judges' opinions and your own do not match, it's just a part of life. I do agree that there are always going to be similarities between seasons. I suppose I should be more specific next time. :)

spoken like the history teacher answering the kid who asks "why do we have to learn this?!" The history teacher in me is proud of you. A+ today!

i dont see the point in bring up worlds in the large senior division when we havent seen every team in the division go fullout with EVERY section of their routine.

Ha! True. Definitely pointless if it's just bitterness. I'm all good with comparing styles and scoring. But if you're just mad... well, it's time to move on. :D

:D:D:D Lol! Your post just made my day (sweet - it's only 7:10am and I'm already all set for the day!)

I grew up in a generation where we couldn't turn in something for MATH class if it had a grammar error, let alone English class. It's been drilled into me from a very young age. I guess grammar isn't something that's taught in schools anymore; it's a dying art, like calligraphy. :D

Sn: in honor of msteal's birthday I'll say something nice: I think SE really is tops when it comes to creativity. I do actually really like watching their stunts and pyramids every year. :)

Best birthday present EVAH!!!! Thank you.

Is the amount of crossovers this low of a number all across the program? Its an impressively low amount

I can't speak for the whole program, I'm sorry. The rule is you do your age appropriate team first and if you choose to crossover you can be considered for another team (Usually an age up from where your home team is.) So kids on YE might base or backspot on that team would be considered for JE where they might fly or whatever. Kids who are Jr age eligible have to do that team and if they choose to do another one might be considered for a Sr Worlds team.

So the amount of SE kids that crossover in a given year is based on how many of those kids are still Jr age eligible. This year there are 4. Other year's there have been more. Next year there might be less. Just depends on the age of the kids trying out in a particular year.

This might be a very shocking post coming from me but...
I genuinely wish I had the opportunity to just sit down and pick Courtney's brain. And whoever else plays substantial roles in these routines. There's probably 8-10 people in this industry that I'd love to just sit and talk to about cheer and just hear their insight and their creative process, and Courtney is high on the list (right below Victor/Kristen and Elaine/Joelle). Year after year, whether I personally like the team/routine or not, I'm astounded by the precision of every element in these routines and that even the things that seem small and insignificant are intricate and made to look a lot easier than they are.
