everyone's a critic...... granted i do think the cheetahs one was a little unfair considering all the others don't have falls, etc.

I'm not blaming teams for throwing tucks/layouts in the majors videos. I'm blaming the Majors for over-extending themselves and now scrambling for footage. I'd rather have good quality interesting shots that are less than longer videos showing me extraneous stuff.

I will, however, still note execution. Nobody is exempt from that. It's hypocritical to only point out PCM when there's a gym down the lane with the same problems. Just 'cause you're bigger doesn't mean you don't have work to do.

i think the videos were meant to look like practice type videos, to hype up for the actual majors competition. i dont think they ever planned to film full out competition looking routines in the first place.

However they are called "skills" videos and much of the content was not up to par with the teams' actual skills. Listen I can barely do a roundoff but in my opinion if you're going to hype up these videos as much as MAJORS did aka make people wait weeks/months to see them and market yourself as a competition for "The Best of the Best" (which I agree with considering the teams attending) then the videos should be longer than a minute and contain the impressive skills that will be showcased at the event. Just my opinion. Regardless I'm really excited to watch this weekend.

Getting away from the more serious side of cheer...
I thought I would share with all of you the most memorable high school experience of mine so far.
I present to you Powderpuff

(couple pages behind but still) This was hysterical. People everywhere doing god knows what, the million different songs hahha And I loved the stunts!! Very good job :shimmy:

I really loved SE's (Missy E!)
I liked f5's, SSX, and Stars.
I'm not quite sure the Majors crew knew how to capture the coed boys in a flattering way. It wasn't the kids' fault, but the vids were not edited to capture the scale of their stunting and tumbling abilities. I liked Senior Coed Elite's and Ace's vids, but still felt they could have been even MORE impressive, if that makes any sense. ETA: Ironically, last year's
Cheetahs' video had that grand scale! Large tosses, etc.

I know for sure that the CEA videos were done during really long practices. The bad hair and no make-up give that away. I agree that practice is the time to fix problems with execution. If you don't point your toes in practice, you definitely won't point them on stage. But, they are kids and nobody's perfect. Perhaps it was a long day for them as well.

I'm just over all of these invitation-only events
It seems as if these EP's do not have their ish together... First The Revolution falling through and then missing videos and the ones that are out are terrible. IMO, if you're going to put on a comp like this, make sure its as "grand" and "awesome" as you promised :banghead:

Hmm...... Welcome to cheer in California.

One of the guys on coed told me, yesterday, that they filmed their videos months ago. It was just a matter of them editing it. I imagine that they have all the footage they need, but chose poorly.

Okay the jumps don't look 1/2 as bad from the front.
I have two observations..
1. Every performance (not including their showcase) I've seen from Stars so far seems very rushy, unprepared, etc., which is odd because it didn't seem like that AT ALL from the showcase video. I know they had a couple little issues, and the crowd wasn't helping much, but I'm hoping that's just something that will go away as they compete a few more times.
2. Considering the biggest safety deduction/warning for level 5 this season so far has been bracers letting go before the catch, it's surprising to me that the bracers continue to let go as much as they did at the beginning of the season.
I am the program director at Valley Elite Allstars and our Youth 2 coach is a super senior on Stars. They look rough becasue they hadn't had a full team practice because of weather or whatever reasons in over a month until recently. Thats mainly why they exhibitioned. Because they needed to get on the floor together again before the Majors.
