She may not, but like 12step said if this was an unknown cheerleader that's exactly what she would be called. That's my confusion. Oh well, doesn't really effect me. Just shocked at the reaction given the history of beliefs on the board.

and since she, her family and the gym haven't stated the reasons...I can't call it gym hopping, yet. She also, in her message, thanked Tannaz for all her guidance during this temporary transition (her words, not mine). So, I'm going to take a wild guess in that this decision wasn't made suddenly or without warning. I'm also going to guess, by her specifically stating a "temporary" transition that what ever is coming isn't planned on being permanent.

And to clarify, I'm not laying the gym hopper tag on anyone...merely pointing out that the board is usually very clearly voracious about this subject (with or without details) in existing threads and the reaction to this announcement has been noticeably different.

In either case it's positive for her because no one needs to be treated that way. Even Janie Sue from JAS.

Janie Sue wouldn't even be a thought on this board. The only athletes about which this would be discussed are those with some notoriety. And I can certainly think of one athlete in particular that switched gyms three times in a season and it was all sunshine and roses from this board.

I think part of the reason there hasn't been blow-up drama is because of the way J presents herself on the show and on social media. She has always been humble and respectful. Actually all the Smoes are pretty loveable.

That being said, when you are in the spotlight, whether you sought it out personally or not, people are going to feel entitled to an explanation. Someone almost always ends up getting hurt in the fallout.

A gym hopper, at least in my opinion, would be someone who changes gyms. I think enough little hints and things have been thrown around to show J will at least be staying within California Allstars. If an athlete moved from Janktastic Allstars Maryland to Janktastic Allstars Florida there would likely be no "gym-hopping" comments, regardless of how unknown said cheerleader is.

It's better to know from the SOURCE why she won't be on the team at NCA then for the dramatic Cheer world to start assuming things once they notice the smo twin isn't on the floor. Right?

I think she wanted to make a statement so the whole thing can be said and done with for the time being instead of repeating herself when people notice she's not on the team anymore and everyone and their mom ask why a million times. Personally, I'd rather make a statement once about any kind of breakup instead of rehashing it whenever someone asks. I think when someone just vanishes is what people get most upset about and this way no one is blindsided when there's no athlete.
