There really needs to be a minimum score requirement or something to stop Worlds from becoming so watered down. We all know that there are other comps that are closer to Worlds that give even the last place team a bid. What kind of accomplishment is it to consistently go to Worlds and never have a shot at making the finals? That's just a trip to Disney!

I agree completely. I have been thinking about this a lot since a local gym near us just got a passed down at large bid and they have like 3 fulls total on their lvl 5 team. How is that fair to the parents paying all that money to go down there, that their kids do not have a hope and a prayer of making it past prelims. But apparently someone somewhere is making money off these teams. And I guess some people want the experience of going to World's even though they know they can't possibly make it to finals. I just hope their gym owner is honest with them and doesn't let them go down there believing their team is competitive.

I thought I heard somewhere that they're going to 2 AL with every FP bid next year rather than 3. That would cut down on about 1/3 of the AL bids.

I don't know. If it's a mistake, I can't image that they wouldn't pass it down. You have to give out 3 AL bids with each FP bid I believe.

No problem! They just released the UCA schedule. I'm pretty sure not a single team will walk away without a bid.

Oh there's still a good amount of bids left. But most of the mid Atlantic teams don't have bids (well 11 don't - and there's 8 bids to give out).

I hate the "we have gone to worlds 4 times" used as advertisement for gyms. Yeah, and you never once made it out of prelims/landed in like 50th place. Parents and even some cheerleaders don't realize it.... They hear "worlds" and don't bother to do their research and find out how they actually did.

There's a google doc in the worlds thread with all the scores. It takes some searching but it's here somewhere!

They used to post full placements but not scores. Although, I'm not seeing last year's anywhere right now.

I think they need to do a lottery for seats in the arena. This team would get section so and so and so fourth. Beats waiting in line at the crack of dawn just to get a glimpse

I am sorry to digress from the topic, you are so correct,,, in another conversation in Cheer Newbie, I mentioned how much my daughter and I hated the new design of the NCA jacket, but my daughter since winning her jacket has only taken it off once and that was to take a shower,,, so this just prove that the jacket is just symbol and really it is a representation of high accomplishment in a sport... Right now, many of us are reacting to the newness of something different... I likened this to when in 2000 the Olympic commitee decided to change the design of the metals and now, most people do not remember the backlash and the ugly statements about those metals,,,additionally, I do not remember hearing about a single athlete tossing their metals away in disgust....Lol, furthermore, walking around the Convention Center yesterday, I did not see a single jacket cast away in the garbage bins, but I did see a lot of crying cheerleaders wishing they had one of those ugly and cheap jackets..

At least your cp got hers. My cp's team won, but they ran out of jackets!
