i like tattoos but for some reason i don't like them in combination with a cheerleading uniform, it is very weird and i can't even explain it . I guess the two things just don't go together in my head
I would never tell anyone to cover their tattoo up unless it is something very offensive , i do have to say looking at athletes with gigantic tattoos does distract me from the routine though (aswell as colorful hair or funky braces)
With the uniform in the picture i do not mind the tattoo at all,you can barely see it.

If a coach knows that a girl had a tattoo prior to a competition and then makes that athlete cover it then that's stupid. If there is a no tattoo policy from the coach then the person with the tattoo shouldn't have made the team if it's a huge issue. I have tattoos and not cover one due to the fact I don't want it and want it covered but my other one shows and idc. Also the tattoo thing is not a rule so there's no way it should ever be deducted for at a competition. Whoever wrote that they got deducted for it your coach is an idiot for not fighting it. The only rule I've ever had at a gym was no unnatural hair colors. We had one girl have (a lot of) pink in her hair and a judge wrote that it was completely distracting and then the rule was implemented no more funky colors.

It used to be illegal to show tattoos at cheer competitions in Sweden. Not anymore, though. But it was never a problem, people just used tape to cover it up. Also very few teams have cut-outs in their uniforms and overall we show less skin - so less tattoos showing.

What's the name of the Italian gymnast that threw shade at Simone Biles after worlds? Or maybe it was the gymnast that didn't.....Anyway. One if the Italian gymnasts that competed at the competition that came on tv in early March has the Olympic Rings tattooed on the nape of her neck and it was visible. The commentators mentioned it...not negatively, just noting that she had it and then they talked about her Olympic/Worlds successes.

I'm personally "Team No Tattoos ever in life".

Carlotta Ferlito? She was the one who was super salty towards Simone. Didn't know she had tattoos. Her teammate Vanessa Ferrari has a lot of tattoos and I remember then being visible during the Olympics/Worlds. I'm not sure what the rule is in gymnastics.

Its Vanessa. She was at the AT&T Cup. I remember now because they mentioned her last name being Ferrari and then Ferrari car.

And a quick google image search shows that her tattoos were visible at the 2012 Olympics

I googled it and apparently there's nothing in the Code of Points mandating that tattoos must be covered. I could see Marta wanting them to be covering or other Federations might have rules about them. I kinda like Vanessa's though! It's pretty.

To be fair it was a local janky comp in a high school gym with mats

I saw the TGLC uniform when I was walking around WWOS (they were all getting ready for warm ups i believe) and they are absolutely beautiful. It seems to be a trend with Top Gun that I like the boys uniforms more than the girls, but these are seriously one of my favorite uniforms.

I don't see an issue with tattoos being shown at all. It's no different than someone having hair too short to go into a ponytail or wearing a knee brace-- and those are actually more distracting imo, but you're not going to tell someone they can't compete today because their hair is too short or tell them to compete with a torn acl and no knee brace.

Also, there was one team I used to compete against regularly, they had a girl with a thigh tattoo and made her cover it (not sure if it's a state rule or not) with a weird nude colored cloth and that was way more distracting than her tattoo because it seemed like it was always falling off. Plus she was a flyer, and I could see a safety issue if it's not wrapped tight enough.

I love seeing Olympian's Olympic rings tattoos, but that's just me. So cool to see where they all get them.

I don't have a problem with tattoos. A lot (maybe almost majority) of my friends have them. I just don't have anything that I want bad enough to get put on my body permanently. I have several friends that just roll up to the tattoo studio and get whatever is on their mind. I have a hard time believing that they won't regret that. But it's their body, not mine.

I don't really think that much about tattoos for allstar teams but I like to see them covered for college teams. I know South Carolina requires theirs to be covered while in uniform. My friend uses stage makeup for the one on her side. But now they are restricted to only full tops so it's not really a problem anymore.

I love the ring tattoos too!
For my university only a few people have tattoos, one girl has three but they are all covered when in uniform. Two of the guys have them on their upper bicep and they just kinda peaked out of the top of their uniform sleeves but our coach doesn't make them cover them.

I've actually had discussions with my friends as to where we would all get our Olympic ring tats if we ever competed and I decided on my forehead because I would need everyone to know I was an Olympian everywhere I go.
