A lot of the things posted here make sense..........and yet, I still can't help but hold out hope that it's legit and our teams can donate this $$$ in Amy's honor!!
Id love for it to be true! I hope the bidding gets up to quite a bit higher on all of them - they're all great and deserving charities! Did nfinity donate the bags? Or is the price going to end up being taken out of the total. I'd assume donated? I do love the idea of it. And the white nfinity bags.
I'm not familiar with eBay, but if someone wanted to pay X amount and other people weren't bidding against it, would they automatically do the next highest bid plus a dollar, or can you choose to pay more than you have to? If people want to donate that badly of course they can always do it directly, just wondering if eBay would let them pay more than they have to to win.

I also hope the bidding get's up to quite a bit higher on all of them!! Such great charities. Such great lesson's for our kids about giving back because let's face it, this sport is expensive and anyone who get's to participate is blessed.

Nfinity did donate the bags. The auction prices will all go to each team's charity. The white is amazing!!

That's a great question. I used to ebay a lot years ago but I don't think I've ever heard of what your talking about. If I win an auction and they send me an invoice, I would think it would let me pay whatever as long as it was enough to cover the invoice amount.

Someone smarter than me said you can send any amount......just has to be enough to cover the invoice. @cheermommaRN

Am I the only one who thinks the SE bag will end up in their gym? I do think the bidding is legit, and I think someone who would pay that type of money would want to put it in a dispay case with lights. Yes they could purchase a bag and have the team sign it, but it wouldn't carry the same value, Is this not the same gym that purchased the worlds floor? It may not be worth $14,000 for most but it's definitely worth it to someone.

i think it HAS to be someone in their program or a group of people who are personally close to the cause. Not even the most passionate SE fan could convince their parents to shovel out 14k for a backpack even if it is for charity.

This is the same gym that purchased the Worlds floor......but we were in the market for a new floor anyway, it just happened to work out.

As to CSP purchasing the bag, I think if it was her she would have taken her donation and split it between both SE and Coed bidding on both bags. JMHO

I can understand why that would be your first thought though!

And with that I'm going to bed. I certainly never started this thread to talk about us. LOL

You have a certain time frame in which you have to pay. I'm wanting to say 3 days, but I've always used PayPal and paid right away and don't tend to buy things on auction- just the "buy now" items. I also haven't spent more than $50 on there at any given time, but my brother used to do a lot of selling on there. He used to mod xboxes several years ago and sell them there.

It's upto the seller - I buy stuff on ebay all the time. I've bid on things and forgotten. Then I win and I'm like "Uh... can I pay you friday?" They always tell me ok, but they could say no. So the seller decides when it's taken you too long to pay and re-lists it or gives it to the next highest bidder - they can let you take weeks if they want to. But I think you're right - the 3 days is on ebay's end, in that the seller can't decide you've taken too long before then.

I still get the feeling it's a bunch of teenage kids messing with the bidding and just bidding to make one more a favorite then the others, cause both CEA bags are a lot higher then the rest of them. Kids are stupid, so I wouldn't put it past them.....
I agree, and the fact that it kinda just stopped at the $14,000 area after going up every couple minutes makes me think that even more since you have to put a CC down for over $15,000.

Ahh gotcha! I'm a fairly decent ebayer (the English nut in me is screaming, "that's not a word!"), but I've never actually sold anything, just purchased. The items aren't usually very costly ones, so I'd venture to guess you have purchased things a tad more costly than I lol ;)

That also explains why I had the 3day thing in my head. I also love Amazon and Etsy (I'm fairly new to Etsy, but so far I love it!)

I had hoped it was for real because of the cause it supports. I'm feeling like it's not though and I'm trying not to be angry about it. Not for the money (10 bucks or 14k I'd feel the same way about the principle) but because it's so disrespectful given the charity of choice.

Not that the timing would ever be "good," but now, especially, was a very disrespectful time for people to have done this if that's what actually happened. Which makes me think it's some kids that don't think more than 30 seconds ahead or outside of themselves to realize your "fun joke" is actually horribly disrespectful to the family and a very special woman we all hold dear.

If they are fake bids I hope the people involved get outed somehow.

There's a certain time window that has to pass so that you can file a complaint with eBay about a buyer failing to pay - 72 hours I think. Sellers can't leave a review about a buyer like the other way around, but it does show up as a ding on their profile if they fail to pay (which only matters if you have any history). It really sucks when the buyer doesn't pay you, grrr.
