All-Star Worlds 2014 - Day 1 Updates

GAH I want VOD because I've been given "drive the three brothers around" duty while my parents are gone this afternoon, and I have school Monday. But it's $50.

If a team can't even reach 200 points they should not be there.

Some of these team can barely even break 150!!! Out of 300!!

I still stand by my comment from three worlds ago.. if you aren't breaking 200 you shouldn't be there.

right now it appears that lime is wonderful and everyone else is close behind. until tomorrow when teams are damn near perfect and tenths short of 300. if you are a full 100+ points behind the winner (in the senior divisions at least) you should not be at the most "prestigious" event all year. I'll be interested to see how next year plays out.

I also wish that there would be a point value you have to be over to advance to international finals. 200 might be a bit much for a lot of teams, but if there is a max of 3 teams from your country in a division, you could technically advance with negative points. Maybe start out with 150 and then raise that value by 5 points every year until you are at 175.

As of now Lime has the highest score so far with the 248, obviously a lot more left today but YAY

I feel like my level 2 team could do most of these routines like how some of these teams are doing them..

Remember that scoring is comparative at Worlds. There isn't a rubric like these teams use all season long.

I'm concerned about the number of preps in pyramids that simply give up. I've seen level 2 youth teams with the ability to push a prep up all the way from the depths of the center of the earth.

Meanwhile grown teenagers are at worlds holding one half of a prep at their belly button and the other half is bent by the other bases shoulders... flyer is in a gimp squat....and the bases are looking at each other like "chile....not me....not today....we just gon chill here and let everyone around us fall too"

Right! They're just working out some of the kinks. By next week, you can look for them to be Worlds ready!

I can't believe this either but I was referring to a girl whose Ponytail and bow fell out, she finished the routine with hair all in her face. I just can't see how a tight ponytail can fall out..

Maybe it broke because it was TOO tight?
