As someone who knows the full story it would be nice if others who do not know just respected all involved and stopped talking about why Jenee left and if she's staying in NC and blah blah. Fact is yes she left smoed, yes she's on senior elite, and that's that. Do you really think that Jenee and her family care what OTHER people think when it comes to knowing what's best for them. It's pretty sad when the cheer world cares more about who is on what team and why they quit and are "mad" about rather than the happiness of someone else. We ALL cheer for a reason-we love it. Would be nice if people just all supported their decision and seeing as it's done and over and jenee and her parents weren't asking y'all's opinion on it that you'd all leave it alone and move on.

Just because they didn't ask for our opinion doesn't mean that we can't have one. I'm not sure anyone cares about their opinion of our opinion. That really isn't the subject matter. People are justified to speculate. The speculation just increases Jenee's stock so they should be pleased.

You can think I'm wrong for saying this, but I'm honestly starting to think that some kids think that have to be on Smoed to be a world champion! It also annoys me because other gyms use mostly kids from their state or kids that have been at their gym for a while to win worlds! So I guess what I'm saying is... if Smoed used their own kids from the Ventura location would they have been back-back-back world champions? Also, why don't they use their own kids? They put out their emails for tryouts before worlds even starts!
Your wrong, other teams like Top Gun have been using out of state athletes for many years. Maybe that fact wasn't so well publicized. But, the use of out of state athletes is nothing new.

CALI has open tryouts. Are you saying they should only have tryouts that include CALI athletes ? I don't feel that tryouts by invitation only are very fair. But, plenty of gyms restrict tryouts that way. Open tryouts, how can you be more fair than that ? Yes, if you have a winning team people want to be a part of that and the completion increases. That's true for all teams, not just SMOED. In theory, you could make Plastix one year and the next year make Code 3 because the competition in tryouts was that much tougher than the previous year (despite improved skills). That's the price you pay to be a part of a successful program. And, hopefully it results in your development of skills beyond what they would be otherwise.

Good for Jazzy for working her way back on the team! Must've been hard having the entire cheer world watch you get replaced. Massively happy for her

What I don't understand is why kids would leave such amazing gyms (CEA, T&S, I believe there a TG boy there maybe?) to go all the way to Cali. The gyms they're at are already at that caliber so why do they feel the need to move? Especially people from the east coast. There's 5 world champion gyms off the top of my head on the east coast. It baffles my mind that people think they need to be on smoed to win worlds. Hello what about those other divisions!? It's not like moving for cheer really bothers me either it's the fact that people think smoed is the only answer. Nothing against that team either obviously they're amazing. Hopefully this post makes sense haha

Just because a gym is successful, world champions, etc does not mean they are a fit for everyone.

fairly certain Marci's was for work and cheer. Like okay we are moving to that part of Cali, let me try out for Smoed so that I can still cheer.
Exactly. People are staring to get so negative when they hear kids are changing gyms. I felt like I had to remind them that whole families still move.

You know what is weird? With this year's addition to Smoed, I am starting to see the team as a group of individuals instead of a team. With each announcement, I am like"ok there's their dancer, their last pass, their power boy " etc. I am not sure that is a good thing, but it certainly is going to be fun to watch them

Also keep in mind that a lot of these folks may be graduating and they are going to college in Cali and at the same time super senioring on Smoed. It happens for a lot of gyms I know there's at least some of the cheetah boys who are not from dallas or texas who super senioring.

i know it sounds mean but when i figured out who the one Girl is and that she was on SSX i could not help but think ''maybe because SSX is always the Bridesmaid never the Bride at Worlds'' whenever i read peoples posts asking why she would leave.
This is for sure not her reason but it immediately came to my mind
(before people start attacking me, i have a lot of respect for SSX , it is not meant in a mean way ;) )

I definitely get where everyone is coming from, on the topic on changing gyms. But I personally don't get why there's so much hate...
Coming from me, I live in a whole state where there is one gym that can field all levels (except 6). All other gyms can't get past level 2 or 3.
So what I'm trying to say is...if I'm really, honestly dedicated to this sport, and I work hard to get level 5 skills, I want to have a chance. I would send in a video tryout. Just to see if my work paid off. See if I really could compare to the amazing athletes from around the world. And it would be a dream come true to make the team, but all I really want is a chance. Smoed gives athletes a chance.
