Took my J3 to a Jamfest comp. One of my girls who tumbled to the back landed her tuck and then while walking backwards to her next spot she trips and falls behind the jammfest fringy curtain thing. You totally see her fall and then roll backwards off the stage throughout he curtain. It was funny enough that she tripped but the roll off the stage was the best.

I was judging an elementary school one year for my friends team, and we had to ask one girl at a time to showcase their toe touch,

so we asked one of the girls that went up for her try out to showcase her jump , and she said ok all confident and happy, ( she bent down and touched her toes) it was so cute cause she said "ok" so joyful and confident but we all knew it was her first year and still didn't know what a toe touch was ! Tried my hardest not to laugh, but myself and the other judges thought it was the cutest thing we've ever seen!

My Y1 rec team only has enough mats to make a 7-panel wide practice space, so after our synch round off section, the kids not doing corner passes had to walk behind the corner tumblers to get to their next spots... which means that they had to step off of the mats in practice. We told them every single practice "remember, you're running on the last panel of mats at the competition, not actually off the mats."

First competition, warm up went fine. On the floor competing, however, two kids ran all the way off the side of the mat. Stepped down off the spring floor, ran around the back, just barely made it to their spots for the next section.

...At least they ran clean?

I love getting to comps in time to see the tiny and the mini division they are so cute and never fail to crack me up. At one comp there was a worm contest in a break and this girl who was 6 was trying to worm across the mats it was so cute luckily one of my teammates who was doing the worm contest too who is 19 (it was just for fun) helpled her and her friend along it was adorable

My story is one of those look back and laugh ones! During my first season of comp cheer, we had a forward roll choreographed in the routine but only ever marked it in training because we trained in a tiny hall. So of course when the competition came around and we had to do it on the floor, my forgetful 10 year old self just marked it whilst the rest of my team actually did it! I was absolutely distraught and came off the mat in tears because i thought i'd ruined the whole routine!

However we did still win :) and one of my coaches also gave me chocolate to cheer me up so it was a win-win situation!

Last season my team also had a girls weave fly off mid routine...that was pretty amusing for us as a team!
My junior year on my high school team I accidentally marked a forward roll in our Sectionals compeition. I was so embaressed. But it's true what they say! You perform how you practice!

My high school girls know that I give demerits for being late.

The girls were supposed to report for practice at 4:30 PM.

At 4:26, two of my rookie girls come running into practice having been in such a hurry to get ready that they had NIKE PROS ON BACKWARDS AND SHOES ON THE WRONG FOOT.

I laughed so hard I had REAL TEARS.

First day of practice, runnning drills with my Flag team ,which consisted of almost all kindergartners and a couple of 1st graders.

" 5...6...7...8...1 ...2"

Little girl runs up to me and says. "the next number is NINE....it's ok, I forget sometimes too!

When cp was 4,she told her Pre-K teacher, that she would not learn how t0 count to 10,because she is a cheerleader/dancer and all she needs to know, is how to count to 8 and if she has a problem with that, she needs to talk to her coaches...I still have the note, her sweet little second year teacher, sent home with her, asking if the coach could tell her,she need to learn how to count to 20+...this was also the year, she convinced Daddy, that it was dance day at school and that she could wear, her dance clothes,a crop top and booty shorts,to school. That was the best phone call,I have ever received!

At my very first Showcase, when I was only 5 years old, I lost my tooth in the middle of the routine. I held on to it the rest of the performance!

The day of cheer pictures, I lost my tooth.(I was eleven though so it wasn't as cute;)) My friend held my held still and my base pulled. I was so excited!

Mis-heard lyrics from routines by some of the athletes:

"I want to rock and roll all night .... and part of every day"
"She wears Batman pajamas - just as tight as they can be"

Most recent: at the end of Jags routine, they hit their pose and say "Jaguars"
near the end of the season, one of the athletes on a younger team asks "wait, what's a jaguar?" after explanation, she then says "Oh, I thought y'all were saying Star Wars".

Jumping off of that: There may have been a Jag team member who thought "Me and my girls" said "Me and my squirrels"
