Doesn't senior elite have close to 40 girls on their team.... I know that they usually always do that, but I would feel bad for the flyer that might be replaced by jenee coming back after tryouts just finished.

She was on the roster from the beginning. She wasn't in NC for tryouts but the staff already knew what she could do from her being on the team already. There's still the same amount of kids on the roster as there were at the Teal Reveal. Nothing's changed! She was placed back on her team and I know A LOT of families and kids were praying that her family was going to be able to make it work for her to come and rejoin her sisters. There's a lot of happy kids in our gym right now, believe me!

And my apologies to LakerFan for coming off like I'm speaking for them....it's not my intention. Just want people to have facts.

is it weird and stalkery to ask how they're making it work? like is mom and sis traveling again to stay with her or now that they've made friends do they trust a family to host her? i just find the whole traveling across the country thing fascinating, still, especially prior to the kids finishing high school. do you enroll in school in the new state? online? do you give someone else legal guardianship of your kid in case (knock on wood) they get hurt and have to go to the emergency room and decisions need to be made? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS.

as much as i don't want to know the details of their lives, i'm way too intrigued on minors who are still in high school making this work. (i guess this was more rhetorical unless @lakerfantlc wants to answer. i don't expect you to share their lives, MsTealy)

I feel bad for all the girls who tired out and didn't get a spot because one was saved for her even though she wasn't there. That's no fair to the rest of the athletes who want to be on the team..... :cow:

It's funny how smoed gets hassled, but no one bats a eye when it's the almighty senior elite.

Personally I think it's okay and up the to gym and coaches, but don't understand the hypocrisy in people

Eh I don't think it's a big deal in either case. If a kid got bumped after placements, I'd be peeved. But in Smoed and SE circumstances, these kids try out just like the other kids do, they just happen to not be physically present. Susie wants to beat out Jenee for a SE spot? Tell her to take another private.

I know the answer to some of those and other's I don't. LOL Since she's announced she's coming back I don't mind answering from a CEA perspective that she made the team at tryouts! She was on the team from the beginning. I don't feel that betray's their trust.

Your questions are completely understandable and I appreciate you realizing I can't speak for their family! You tagged her......maybe she'll come by and say Hi!!

I might be inclined to engage in a conversation if I thought you really cared. But, you don't. You're just taking an opportunity to talk poop about us.

So, I'll turn it around........."I feel bad for all the people who think it's ok to not include Jenee on the roster of the team she finished the season with." It goes both ways! And for the record tryouts happen all season for veteran kids (and Jenee is a veteran kid) and if it was my nobody know's her CP she would have still made the roster if she couldn't be at tryouts due to being out of town...........would that be unfair too?

I think the difference is that Jenee competed with this team at Worlds and there was probably some talk way before tryouts of the possibility of her coming back, but she didn't know for sure at the time. I don't know that for sure, but I doubt that this was a random and spontaneous doing.

It may be "unfair" to the other athletes, which I don't necessarily think it's unfair, but you do have to put the right kids on the team and seeing Jenee perform with Senior Elite for the last couple of competitions makes me believe that she's a perfect fit for SE. I think this was a great decision.

I could totally be thinking of someone different if so I apologize, but I thought she was cheering somewhere else? Tri Athletics or something?
That is what I thought too.

She was graciously offered a spot there and believe me, this was no easy decision for her. There was a lot of discussion, questioning, info-gathering, wondering, and at the end of it all, she had to make a decision.
Sach can't, and doesn't, go through life jumping here and there, chasing rings (literally or figuratively.) She was presented with a situation, made a decision. Then an opportunity arose that that she would've regretted for life had she not given every piece of her soul to just try to get it. So, forgetting fear and self-doubt and finances and everything she stressed about, she went for it.
Dreams are nothing if you don't try to achieve them. She made a decision on the info she had and would've been honored to cheer for Jamein at Tri. God had a different plan for her cheer life this season, and she accepts that fully.

I suppose I accept it too @mstealtoyou - though my Velvet Armor might try to reject teal ;) I will support my kid and the 19 girls she will come to call sisters, regardless. This is her gig and I'm just along for the ride! But seriously, everyone has been crazy nice and welcoming so far!

Wouldn't it kind of be like a video tryout?

The Fierce Board App! || iPhone || Android I promise I'm not really a hat

Well that's awesome. If it's in your heart and go with your dream there is no fault in going with your heart. Good luck to your daughter. I've been a fan of SSX for awhile and will continue to be.
