I don't want to gang up on this gym and sort of kick them while they are down, because the skills were there, I supposed. They just need some better organization and coaching. But there is not excuse for the dance. LIKE YOU'RE AT WORLDS. Let's at least maybe consider being tight.

My thoughts are with the family of the lady who was sentenced. Truly a sad situation for all involved.
I cannot even imagine what her kids and husband must be going through. And that is a small town.

This. The kids have nothing to do with what their mother did, but we know how mean people can get, escpecially teenagers.

And the worlds routine - so, yes they shouldn´t compete in Level 5. Doesn´t look as if they were ready. But i guess this gym went through a lot and i guess it affected the athletes in some way, too. Going out on that floor and maybe not being the crowds favorite team doesn´t help either. The flyer who was fighting for the stunt and fell in the pyramid is the owners daugther i´m quite sure. The other blond flyer is another body type. She had to go through a lot, too if we remember that there was this problem with her dad.

Hope they will have a better season and can start without tv series and drama.

The haters references are probably specifically directed at this thread. So....I think we may be the haters :p

But the routine. It just lacked any kind of polish. They immediately looked tired. Like if you have no energy to continue just 30 seconds into the routine then you need Conditioning Jesus. And if you can't get your dips together you need Counting Jesus. And if you can't keep your legs locked out in stunts then you need Staying Tight Jesus.

And if you can't keep your hands off a 13 year old boy you really, really need Jesus.

First, I will not say anything negative about the team or skills because I could never do any of that alone in my bedroom much less in front of thousands. Lawdy, the stress.
However, Did the music really say "beast mode - get me free taquitos"?

The spin into the splits at the end is always a favorite of mine.

I counted 4-5 kids w/ fulls in that routine, add another 1-2 "questionable" fulls - that's enough to get a worlds bid? Even a non-paid one? I'm scratching my head a bit cause I thought you needed more, like a lot more? Even assuming they hit all their stunts at the right competition w/ no other significant teams there looking for bids, I thought you really needed the majority of your squad to have the tumbling? (6/20 is not the majority).

Surprisingly it's actually semi easy to get an at large at NCA.. There were many teams that did not hit either days who earned their bids there..

Hmmm... is NCA open to compete for international teams? I mean, maybe i can throw together some kids and force them into some i-made-it-around-fulls and not hitting the routine won´t be that hard :wham:

(just kidding, but i´m really in shock that you can get an at-large at NCA with a, let´s say not so good routine )

So if you really want to go to worlds, all you need to do is have 6-7 fulls, make a small team, and pay to go to NCA? Is there any type of qualifying required to go to NCA?

I don't know, but seeing this video is kinda hurting the sanctity of Worlds a bit for me :(. Not so much the stunts, cause they could have just had a bad day (although the flyers really could use some work on their flexibility), but the tumbling is disappointing to see on that floor w/ the Worlds 2014 background behind it. A lot of them weren't even doing "speciality passes" - just straight robhs into single fulls?

So this competed against Smoed and Brandon? Those teams have almost everyone doing speciality passes w/ multiple double fulls. Haha - I guess that's why they win, but still.

I'm going to try and lookup where this routine placed now.

In my experience, most teams in the running at worlds have some bid already and are looking to upgrade by NCA. That leaves a lot of at-large bids up for grabs. The full-paids are where the battling is happening.

NCA is late, so most teams already have bids. The real battle there is for the paids, although this year it may be different since there are less at large bids overall. At NCA 2013 they had more at larges to give out than teams who needed them.

Looks like they were tied for 28th out of a list that went up to 34th on Day 1. There were lots of ties in the list and they didn't skip the next place out when there was a tie - a total of 66 teams made up the placement list that went up to 34. The CTR team had 11 teams placed below them and one tying them at 28 - so I guess they were 54th if you really analyze it ;). Are Day 1 and Day 2 just used to break down the sheer number of teams into 2 days, or does it mean something better or worse to be on Day 2 vs. Day 1?

Worlds is also MUCH bigger than I thought. 100+ teams just in one division? Wow.

I think this team has a lot of potential, they just need better coaches. They also need to move down a level, but some of them are really talented and it just makes me wonder how good they would be if they had proper coaching.
